@Thomas Lee Bunting Likely. The Create spells seem to have been culled and thats it.
If your not familiar with GURPS Magic it has Illusion and Creation as a college with the Create spells making physical temporary objects or people and those spells are listed as cut from this edition.
Illusion spells have the ability to fool one or more senses and come in various types. Area spells, disguise spells (move with the disguised person or object), Independent programmed spells, interactive spells and even Phantom spells. Not sure if Phantoms are still in but I suspect they are.
One of the flaws of the DF line was GURPS Magic, with all its faults, was required (though there were some work arounds with Divine favour and now DF19). DFRPG is DF done right.
The character I'm going to want to create will very much be heavily focused in the school of illusions. What can I expect, what can a wizard or bard focused on this school of magic be able to do?
Will he be able to use the magic of Illusion to take the appearance of those around them or create new appearances all of his own creation? Will he be able to create grand illusions that enhance his storytelling, essentially bringing to life as it were the characters, creatures, and settings of the stories he tells even though they are not in truth real? Could he use his Illusions to deceive those into attacking each other, see that which is not there, and even bring fear into their hearts? Much like an artist, would he be able to make the battlefield his canvas?
