Have a question?
Am I the only one who is disappointed in Six to Start?
As far as I can see, the people who waited and bought the app on Google Play (dno about windows or iPhone) they got the Season 2 for free.
But the people who supported the game before it was even developed (and for about the same amount of money) they only get season 1.
Besides not getting the Season 2, we don't even get any more updates regarding bug fixed or anything :S
I know Season 1 was the only part of the kickstarter, but it still feels like we are being cheated.
I love zombies, run!, and I was wondering if the 5k package is included in the season one content?
Yep, we're aware there's a bug with missions not showing completion, and we're working on it. As for not tracking distance, we haven't seen that bug - in fact, 0.9.2 should have fixed anything along those lines. If it's still happening, let us know at email@example.com - that's the best and fastest way to get problems solved, as it goes to our support team and our devs (rather than the guy who updates this page!)
So, this is my second time doing the Paul Revere run. I have already sent a message to the support team about this, but I will post about it again. My items have not synced with my computer. It has now seen that I have run the Paul Revere twice, but I cannot put any of the items into my base, and I have at least 20 items to add. :(
Also, since the first mission, my Android Galaxy has not tracked my distance, only my time. Is this something that will be fixed in the next update?
So, the iPod Touch doesn't have a GPS chip which means it will never be able to get a fix - and it never has, in any version of the game. You need to use accelerometer tracking.
Hi, Since updating Zombies, my Ipod Touch only says "Aquiring GPS fix" and doesnt and doesnt track my runs. PLEASE HELP!
Yup, that's right!
Just downloaded Version 1.3 and synced my runs from ZR-Advance successfully. I just want to confirm that there are 23 missions total and 7 supply missions for a total of 30 missions? I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Thanks!
Seems like the Android version of Zombies, run! does not like my Razr. Hopefully it will work once I get 4.0.4 on it.
If you've synced to ZombieLink and you can see your data there and in the Zombies, Run! 1.3 app, then yep, you can delete the old one.
For us on iPhone, is it alright to delete the old app now if we've synced to Zombielink?
Maps syncing is coming to Android in our next update...!
I was chomping at the bit for this to get to the Android and as hard as it was, it was so worth the wait! I love doing the next mission to just to see what happens. The writing is great fun and I love each transmission.
I enjoy learning about more story on ZombieLink and being able to share runs and maps. One questions though - where are my maps? I don't see anything to share...
Great job everyone! So happy I helped contribute to this wonderful project.
Even more awesome than expected! Looking forward to the coming chapters. I would love to give you money for more content.
Finally got it to install on my Nexus One without rooting; I had to follow http://www.androidauthority.com/how-to-install-apps-to-sd-card-without-android-rooting-44239/ (which is very much not simple) in order to do it (support@ - I emailed you exactly what I did, in case it helps your devs). Can't wait to try it out!
Tim: If you still haven't received it, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your Kickstarter receipt
Heather: It should download to SD by default... not sure what's going on there!
could it be they are releasing out to email addresses on the hour to avoid spam traps?
havent got mine, and yes I checked the spam folder.
Oh man, I have an unrooted nexus one and this app is too big to download! Even if I erased everything on my internal storage there wouldn't be enough room, and I haven't figured out yet how to download to my SD card. Hope I can get it running without getting a new phone. Well ok I probably need a new phone anyway.
Lauren: They've all been sent now - have you checked your spam folder? If it's not there, email us at email@example.com
Any news on those activator emails? Sorry, I'm antsy and I want to go running before night time. Been almost 2 hours since I got the update email.
Patrick, you might want to have a think about your own attitude here. Something about glass houses and all that...
waiting for my email - any update on send time - I've been waiting for this app for sooooo long and am stoked to get it!
Nah, we're OK.
That is a much less attitude filled response until the last line it is just unprofessional to give a snarky response when it was a failed expectation that was set and missed on your end this will ensure that your company will not receive any further money from me or anyone that I talk to about this situation. Please get a PR Representative.
I haven't got a thing in the way of emails for android. I would like to start running with it. any help?
Just got the Project Update - can't wait to get my Android activation e-mail (contrary to the update, I haven't gotten it yet, but soon, I hope? In time for tonight's run?)
We're about to send out activation emails to all backers, so we will have launched on June 14th. How's that for attitude?
So its June 14th in every part of the world and the app is nowhere to be seen is it another missed deadline or do you just not plan on releasing the Android app. The last time I asked I was regarded with an attitude and its not becoming of a company to treat customers backers or anyone with that sort of attitude
so its less than 3 hours till the 14th here on the us east coast and still no information on how to get the app...whats up guys?
Andrew - it was definitely worldwide, but it sounds like you may have been a little bit late.
Did this price change only apply to the US app store ?
I attempted to purchase the regular version of the game on the AU store and it was $8.49 !
Well, I've just requested a refund, and I feel really quite guilty about this! However, I'm going to spend the $10 on the official ZR app, and the Season 1 content that I was promised with the pledge. This is ameliorating my feelings of guilt somewhat.
I'm rather sorry that this all went a bit wrong.
Liz: Yes, M23 will be coming in a free update, along with the ability to link your account!
I might have missed this information somewhere, but how do we link the real app with our info so that all our data transfers? Because right now it looks like I'd have to start over.
Also, the only difference I've noticed between the advance app and the real app is that the real app is missing mission 23, but did I read that that will come later in a free update?
Thanks for trying to figure out ways to make this up to us. I hope we can get some backer exclusive bonus material or something.
I would back a second project "Pebble addon to Zombies, Run!" =)
So excited for June 14th! I've got a 3 day cycling event so hope I can use it for that :D
Hmm - if you have an iPod Touch, then you can't get GPS because it doesn't have a GPS chip. But yeah, we should probably change that text since it's confusing.
On a sepeate note to your recent update.
Since recently updating, Under Run Tracking, my GPS Status only shows as "Acquiring GPS fix" It"
I have tried restarting my iPod Touch, closing and restarting the game and running for a long time with it but it does not change from this status.
Yes, my WiFi and GPS are on.
Is this a Zombies issue or maybe my iPod's issue? Any idea?
Anthony: You can still play for free on Android. As for Apple, they do not want 30% of pre-orders; they just want the app removed because they have now decided it breaks their rules.
Alexis: If you spent $2 on the app, then $8 should get you at least 3 add-ons. Plus you will *still* get free access to enhanced features on Zombielink.
I guess there is such a thing as bad publicity. I assume the profusion of these articles caught someone's eye, along with the mention of $72k Apple wanted their piece of? Just a drop in the bucket to them I'm sure.
Just want to make sure I understand. I can get $10 back from the $45 I donated. BUT, I will have to re-buy the game AND all of the season 1 mission content for my new iPhone in a month? I have not kept track of how the missions have been charged on the normal app. Will all of those missions be included in the ZR app? Also, will I be able to transfer my data via Zombie Link?
Just talked to a friend I mine who is a app developer ... He said you can still continue to send out updates to all zombie kickstarters but you have to pay apple their cut just as if we purchasing the app from the store. Considering myself and about 1000 others paid $45 or more for an app ... the least you could do was pony up for apples %30 cut so you could fulfill your pledge to your initial backers .... Otherwise no matter how much I enjoy zombie run it will always leave a sour taste in my mouth ... $45 for what is turning out to be a one time app is ridiculous!!
Oh wow, sorry to hear Apple is giving you trouble. I would really like to know exactly what the issue is with Apple. If you were able to release that information, maybe we could try to think of a better solution other than refunds and buying the game again. I'm still hopeful there is some way this can be sorted out.
Also, would it be possible to hold off on the app sale until you are able to tell the backers for certain what you are now able to offer them? I ask this because I expect you will need to issue a lot of refunds to some confused people who may be upset later on down the line when you offer something to those who remained backers. I really want to know what is happening before I decide what I'm doing.
Because you do have a good product, I expect those who ask for refunds will only be using it to buy your app again. It is difficult to justify paying $10 for being an early supporter of a game that only costs $7, and on top of that having to re-buy it for $2. Do you have an idea of how much the add-on content you would have provided backers for free will cost?
What exactly is the "issue" with the app store anyway ??? I know in your email you said a miscommunication but what exactly can't you do that prevents us from getting updates ... And forces you to remove the app from the store altogether??
Ok just got the news .... Disappointed isn't the word for me here!!! I knew I could have waited and picked up the game for $5 or so when it hit the app store but I wanted to get into the entire theme of things and help get the game made since it seemed liked it would be a long time commitment so I went with the $45 pledge. Am I correct that I will be getting no more updates ??? Zombie run will no longer be on the app store ??? Please explain ... Your email did not explain very well. So what do I do with my $45 tshirt now that the game will not be available??
I can see it now " .... Hey tony what's that shirt for ?" ... "... Just a running program I used to own ... But after playing each mission 20 times I deleted it!!"
Glimmer of hope .... I need a new phone that I will be getting in July ... If I get an android phone will my membership still be honored ??
That's pretty much already what ZR Advance does - so unfortunately I don't think it'd work, since it's a reward for payment off the App Store...
Could you guys possibly do a work-around for gifting updates to backers? Like maybe provide randomized redeemable codes for the backers that can be entered into the game which unlocks the rest of Season 1 updates for free. It's a little more complicated but should still be able to keep everyone relatively happier. It could just be an in-app little button that says something like "Have a promo code? Enter it here!" Plus if you guys ever want to do any future neat promo things for the general public you could use it for that as well!
