Hanging out with our friends often ends up with numerous photos on our smartphones. Very rarely though do all these photos end up in one place. This is why we created SipSup, photo album in a glass that you and your friends are putting together when they drop by. It`s a perfect excuse to invite your friends over.
When we invite people at our homes, we always offer them a drink. Right? With SipSup your friends can take a SIP and tell you what’s up (SUP).
It’s an interesting idea: storing memories in physical objects. What better than the objects already between us in social settings: glassware. Medium
Dropping in a photo is as easy as clincking glasses. Wait, it is actually done exactly like that – your friends drop in a new moment via SipSup app, with a simple tap of their mobile phone to the SipSup. When you want to take a peek at what they left you on your SipSup you do the same, just tap your smartphone to it. Cheers!
What is making SipSup album so special are the moments your friends hand-picked and dropped in your SipSup.
It’s all about the drop. Friends dropping by and “dropping” you captured moments into a SipSup inspired us to create a base that resembles a ripple effect, like a drop falling into water. After many prototypes and testing, we finally came up with the curved shape, designed to fit naturally in your hand.
Connecting tradition with modernity. SipSup glasses are crafted in collaboration with local Slovenian glassworks, Steklarna Hrastnik. SipSup glasses have Vitrux certificate, which on the basis of research of independent laboratories guaranties that products can be washed up to 3,000 times in a dishwasher and remain without a single scratch. The glass is free of heavy metals and yet achieves brilliance of the crystal.
Making of SipSup. Months of designing and tweaking prototypes led us to final 3D printed design. Test series production created with the wooden molds perfected the way our SipSup chip fits into the embossing. This was done with a procedure which was completely new for everyone involved. We were excited to see that SipSup glasses excelled everything we imagined with the shape of the glass representing the story we wanted to tell. After months of testing we are finally ready for real production of SipSups at glassworks Steklarna Hrastnik .
Our vision is to create uniquely designed glasses that will remind people of unforgettable moments on a daily basis. Connecting technology and traditional product like drinking glass means reinventing its usage for fun and cherishable moments. Drinking glass is something that has always been around us at our homes, offices or bars - somewhere where people are having good times.
To make our vision a reality we have to buy the tooling and materials needed to start a production of SipSup glasses with the team at glassworks Steklarna Hrastnik. To provide a great user experience we also need coding power to develop the SipSup app.

SipSup app is free and will be available for Android and iOS devices. The app enables you and your friends to drop the moments into the glass and browse through them on your smartphones.
