simpli press makes your coffee press ritual easy from brewing to cleanup, while giving you a richer, smoother, and more complexed brew.

Brewing with simpli press is easy and brings out more flavor profiles by allowing you to use fine to medium grounds, which also brews in half the time of a regular French press.

For an extra clean brew, just add a paper filter.
All the grounds lift up in the grounds container, along with the filter! You can then just take the grounds container to your compost bin, your plants, or your trash and easily chuck out the grounds! (Note: Disposing all the coffee grounds in the sink is a plumbing no-no so don’t do it!)
By not having to scrape and tamp out your glass carafe to get the grounds out, save not only time but hopefully money by less chances of breaking your carafe!

We’re redefining the way people press coffee. We’ve come this far with an incredibly small team and a boot-strapped budget, and we are committed to making simpli press a success. We talked to various manufacturers and created our first prototype in February 2015. We got the second prototype September 2015, where we put it through arduous testing brewing thousands of cups at coffee events, asked other coffee lovers for feedback, and further improved the design. Then in March this year, we ordered our third simpli press prototype from our manufacturing partner and are almost ready for production.
Manufacturing Costs
This is the most capital intensive part of our next phase. We have finalized our design, chosen our manufacturer and created a budget breaking down the costs for producing the initial molds, purchasing supplies, meeting the minimum quantity order, and shipping to consumers. We need your support to get simpli press to the next step.

Our goal is to not only develop a product, but to make great coffee accessible to all in today’s time. To do this, we need your support from this initial campaign to not only fund our production, but also get the word out about what we’re developing around the world.

We also want to make it easy and fun for you to try out different ways to make your brew to bring out the best in the roasts and according to your taste. We, as a company, will also incorporate giving back to education and coffee farming communities into our long-term plans.
The Team
“This journey started over two years ago as a literal dream January 2014. I woke up and started sketching simpli press. With my dad being an inventor, it's just in my genes. The passion project became an obsession. By May 2015, I quit my job as an Executive Recruiter (Manufacturing & Engineering specialties) to focus on developing simpli press full-time. In the last year, Scott and I have been traveling the country showcasing the simpli press at coffee trade shows in New York, Portland, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. So far, the response has been more than encouraging to keep pursuing this crazy dream, this calling.” Jenni Morse
It all started with wanting to drink French press every morning, but between brewing and cleanup time, it just wasn't possible.
We also thought "There has to be a way to get all of those great coffee characteristics: the richness of an espresso, the flavor clarity and smoothness of a pour-over, and the body of a French press from one device and without a messy cleanup." With simpli press, one can develop an optimized brew in 2-3 minutes (by being able to use fine to medium grinds) plus an easier cleanup makes a difference in our hurried lives.
Then the taste factor came shortly after as our new favorite by being able to get more flavor out of the coffee beans with the fine to medium grinds (40% more according to the coffee scientist) and brew different roasts (light and medium). The smoothness of the brew is one that everyone always first notice.
We loved brewing at the live coffee events all over the country (see our Kickstarter video and more below) to just see people's reactions and feedback on the difference! We even won a New Product Award (3rd Place) at Portland amongst the established brands and judged by the industry experts (not to mention ultimate coffee snobs)! :)
More than two years, countless hours, personal sacrifice, and three prototypes later, we are introducing the simpli press: a coffee brewer that does just that!
Manufacturing Team
After six months of research and multiple referrals, we found the perfect manufacturer. Platform 88 has not only worked with major coffee/kitchenware brands, but has also worked with several successful Kickstarter campaigns in the coffee and beverage industry (which have delivered to backers and are a few are now for sale in retail stores).
We have met the owner in person and are in constant communication with the team. We plan to visit the factory and team in person, once the Kickstarter campaign commences.

After two years of developing and testing the simpli press prototype we are confident that we have the best design possible made with the best materials. We realize there is always the possibility of setbacks when bringing a product to market and have planned accordingly. We've teamed up with great engineers and manufacturers to ensure that production standards are kept to the highest quality:
DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT
We have been working with Concepts Engineering for the past year and a half in the design and development of simpli press.
For the past ten months, we have traveled all throughout the US brewing thousands of cups for coffee lovers and professionals to gather their feedback before finalizing our design.
MANUFACTURING
We have been working with our manufacturer Platform 88’s engineering team for the past six months in getting the design ready for mass production. Our manufacturer is certified by the global leader in testing and quality certification, Bureau Veritas and has a proven record of creating coffee presses and other related products. We've also allotted enough of a cushion in our timeline so that any unforeseen setbacks will not delay the delivery date for our backers.
If, despite all of our planning, we are still delayed in our delivery, we will make communication with our backers a priority, and keep you informed of the progress every step of the way.
