About this project
Inspired by Professor Masahiro Chatani, the originator of this origamic architecure art, I employed the use of stark white paper & acrylic as the main identity of KIRUMA, which to borrow Professor Chatani's words, emphasizes the shadowing effects of the cuts and folds under natural lighting environment to create a “dreamy scene” that invites the viewer into a “fantasy world."
* The outer pattern design above is from an early prototype, the final product will have different pattern design, please refer to other images on this page.
All KIRUMA rewards will be shipped internationally via registered article with tracking number. Estimated shipping time differs for every country, but roughly it should take 2-4 weeks time.
Since every country has its own regulation when it comes to importing taxes, any kind of tax/duty is backers' responsibility. Please check with your local custom offices to avoid any potential confusion regarding this matter.
Risks and challenges
A significant part of the production processes is going to be handled in-house, by myself with some help under my direct supervision. So, there is no need for any overseas manufacturing involved since everything can be done locally, which should simplify the whole production process and keeping things more predictable.
With more than 3 years of experience in delivering laser craft products, I have already anticipated potential issues that might come, and have multiple alternative solutions ready at hand should there comes any unforeseen circumstance. At this point, the only thing uncertain is timing, due to the partly handmade nature of the product, there might be a slight delay for some late backers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
