"They can die from things like dehydration, exhaustion, hyperthermia, hypothermia, other diseases, and just uh... blunt impact" I'm looking forward to further progress!
This video actually gave me heaps of motivation to get into actually playing the alpha builds. I hadn't registered that the colonists were already building things, I'd just thought they were living, breathing resource sinks that wandered around pointlessly. So it looks like this amazing simulation is starting to work as a game too!
Question - maybe I haven't read enough on the forums, but do the colonists/IMPs use stored resources to build things yet?
Indeed. If you were on Maia, looking for earth you'd find it in the constellation of Boötes. :)
Colonists aren't using the mineral resources yet, as the path-finding is so finicky at the moment that the added complexity makes it a bit slow to test!
Don't remember if I saw this somewhere, but the game will have a toolbar later with the construction options? Or will be only with keyboard shorcuts?
Simon, I get the impression that you are a liiiiiiittle bit Tau Ceti crazy.
(That one was awesome. :D)
((Where did you find that info??))
Impressive. You've done a ton of work. I can't wait to try it out. Will there be vehicles/transportation ?
gandalf.nho Yeah minimal Gui coming in September!
Looking awesome! Might I suggest one small change? I think it would be wise to double or even triple the speed the text appears when mousing over objects. (such as the information about the solar stills or the colonists) I like the effect and don't want to see it removed, but there's no need to wait quite so long for all that info.
Looks very good. And I think this KS project should be an example to many others how you show your progress and development to backers. Way to go, Simon!
I still think the capacitor lights should be entirely red, entirely yellow or entirely green depending on their state instead of the current red, red-yellow or red-yellow-green. The red is a warning sign and it should only warn that way in case of an alarming level.
Wow, this looks great, Simon. Can't wait to get my hands on this thing.
Has the alpha started? If so, I haven't gotten my key yet.
