KickTraq Projections and Project Statistics

Posted by Simon Kwan (Creator)

Hi Kickstarters!

Launching a new project through crowdfunding on Kickstarter is a humbling and gratifying experience. It's also incredibly educational. As creators, we are able to see all kinds of data about how we're doing, where our backers are coming from (both on the web and geographically), and how our project might look towards the end of our campaign.

One of the fantastic tools available is called @KickTraq, by Adam Clark. It really helps break down the activity of any Kickstarter campaign to help both backers and creators get more perspective on the current and likely outcome of the campaign at any given moment. If you've ever considered Kickstarting your own project, you'll love the insights you can get from looking through the data from both successful and failed campaigns (thekickbackmachine is also a great tool, but it's focused on ended projects rather than current).

Imagine how pleased we were when we checked the SIMPLcase KickTraq data this morning (our time in Shanghai) and saw this projection:

This is all thanks to you, our Backers! In order to actually reach this projected goal, however, we have to continue to make people aware of SIMPLcase, so please keep up your amazing support and show our progress to your friends and family.

Lastly, a reminder to everyone to please read Update #3 to learn how to adjust your pledges if you'd like to do so.

There's also a really nice Kickstarter Google Chrome extension (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/kickstarter-status-board/pbbbkenlhfhdgjjjnkjkgibfkbnmflnj) that greatly expands the details of the data provided by Kickstarter for project creators. It also feeds live Twitter updates related to your project, so you don't need to go back and forth between the data and Tweetdeck, for example.

Interesting. As a backer it's nice to know where this project is going.
