One final push...

Hey Everyone,

For starters, thank you all so much for your support.  Because of you we have a legitimate shot at winning the Lexus Ignition competition!  That being said, the race is still extremely close and the competition ends tomorrow, so if we could ask you all to vote one last time it would mean the world to us.  So please take a second to go to and vote for SolarPOP.

p.s. Sorry for sending out multiple updates, but winning this competition means a lot to us, and the POP product.  You have all been awesome in your support and understanding.

Please vote!

Hey everyone – quick update on our Lexus Ignition competition...

It ends on Sunday and it’s going to come down to the wire. Right now we’re down by 1%, so every vote makes a difference! Please go to and vote for SolarPOP. You can vote once per day until Sunday, and don’t forget to ‘share’ your vote with your Facebook friends and family :)

Thanks again, we appreciate all of your support.

Vote For Us & Apple Lightning

We Need Your Vote!

After launching our Kickstarter campaign, Lexus reached out and asked if we’d like to participate in a design competition for the chance to win $25,000. Please vote at, You can vote every day and the contest ends Sunday, September 30th, so please take a second to vote for POP and tell your friends and family. The money will go to making POP, and possibly a new solar top.

iPhone 5/Lightning Adapter

Many of you have been asking if POP will be compatible with the new iPhone 5 Lightning connector. Apple has yet to provide enough technical details for us to tell you with certainty how exactly we’ll be able to incorporate the new chargers. Apple is expected to come out with the full Lightning guidelines in mid-October, and when they do, we will be able to finalize our design and proceed to manufacturing. Because of the delay in waiting for the Lightning guidelines, there is nothing that we can currently do to accelerate manufacturing. This could push out our production schedule a little, but again – too soon to tell. One thing we guarantee is that we will not ship a POP that is not iPhone 5/Lightning compatible.

We’re happy to announce that POP now has its own site – Now you can stay up to date with the most current POP news and progress as we continue pushing forward to the manufacturing process. You can also order more POPs if you would like to.

Bigger Battery, New Features

It has now been exactly two weeks since we launched POP, and thanks to you, we have blown by our goal of $50,000 to an incredible $86,000 in pledges.

We have been hard at work getting POP ready for manufacturing. At this stage we have begun creating the “tooling”, which are the molds that POP will be made in.  Also we were able to add another 1,000 mAh to the battery, now the biggest portable battery just got bigger, 26,000 mAh!

Based on your feedback we have been able to add a few new features to POP:

1. POP TOP: Based on your feedback and comments we decided to make the top of POP into a storage area. This area will be able fit the AC adapter, as well as have space for USB cables. We think this is an awesome upgrade to the design and functionality of POP and we’re so thankful to have amazingly thoughtful Kickstarter backers like you to suggest such creative ideas.

2. POP for Emergencies: Possibly one of the best reasons to have POP that we never thought of – you did. When the power goes out from natural disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, etc. our mobile devices become our only lifeline. Use POP as the primary charging station in your house; if the power goes out, you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing that you can charge your devices for days.

3. POP Station: We had a lot of people tell us how much they loved POP but that they did not need the portable aspect of it. So once again, based on your feedback, we came up with the POP Station. Everything is the same as the traditional POP except we took out the battery. POP Station is ideal for places where an outlet is handy, yet you want a powerful and elegant charger for simultaneously juicing up multiple devices. We’re also offering you the option to change your order to POP Station if you’d prefer. POP Station is available now on Kickstarter for $99.

We made a new video to include the great new features above. Check it out, and as always, your feedback is awesome – keep it coming. We cannot thank you enough.
