Silent Media is proud to announce the forthcoming audio visual project from Pacific 231: Micromega!
To be released in April of 2013.
The audio on Micromega is an electric guitar experiment in processing, cut-up, and real time de-instrumentation. The LP comes with a wafer USB drive containing two videos set to the music.
Pacific 231 is the moniker of Pierre Jolivet, a French born sound artist currently living in Ireland and working on his PhD in Brainwave & Sensorial Perception Research through Sound, Colour & Space: Integrating Multi-sensory output in performance. Pierre has been a formative entity in new, industrial, and post-industrial music since the early 80's.
Micromega does not waver from the unremitting stream of staggering output from Pacific 231. The two +17 minutes long audio pieces move from pulsing tides of wide-eyed warmth, to blistering and barren landscapes, and back to a reformed transcendence with the fluency and skill of a seasoned and schooled hand. Check out some samples of the videos below!
The packaging for Micromega is still in the works. I will be sending out updates via mailing list as things move along. If you would like to receive these updates, you can include your e-mail address when you send your contribution to Micromega, or you can sign up for the mailing list by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with "Micromega List" as the subject.

Risks and challenges
Silent Media's goal is to give you more than the standard record label. We make multisensory experiences. So far, Silent Media has avoided the standard business path for small businesses in the United States -- acquiring absurd amounts of debt. I would like to maintain that trajectory for as long as possible. This means relying on fan based funding to complete projects.
I don't want to mislead you! Micromega will be produced no matter what! At this point, the only question is with how much debt?
To get an understanding of the level of care and attention to detail that is put into every Silent Media release, check out the other projects at www.silentmediaprojects.com. Also, if you want to get updates on the package design for Micromega, you can request to be added to the mailing list either at www.silentmediaprojects.com or when you send in your contribution to Micromega.
Thanks for checking us out!
