A new multi-platform Role Playing Game
Sideralia is multi-platform Role Playing Game.
What does it means? It means that the settlement allow you to play a Role Playing Game and a Board Game.
Sideralia's setting is gothic, dark, medival fantasy, with non classical steampunk elements. The energy, in the universe, is produced by what are called Quantum Seeds, which release energies of different intensity and type. Arcanists have discovered in their studies that Quantum Seeds are connected and resonant with mana channels, and depending on the region of Sideralia in which they are used, they have more or less resonance, while determining their power.
The technology progressed quickly among humans, who have refined the techniques to make the best use of the Seeds, to create even astral ships to cross the channels of mana (the most powerfull energy) that connect all the worlds. The Seeds are used also to create weapons of incredible power.
The highest noble families, have begun an expansionist policy to control the Quantum Seeds and expand their dominion.
How the idea was born and the evolutions up to the creation of the D3 system
We have been changing the rules for two years in order to be able to deal with every situation that came before us. We started with the classic D20 system, with its weaknesses and strengths, but it didn't work for the challenges of the game. Then, we added another D20 to better handle the critical throw and critical failures, but each fight required an hight number of shots during the tests. So in the end, we decided to make a radical change and created two different systems for the game. Players use only D3 for each type of shot. While, the Game Master uses the classic GDR dice pool (D4, D6, D8, 2D10, D12 and a D20) in addition to the D3 for standard shots.
The D3 System was created to limit the different number of dices used in the most famous systems. The system provides players with the unique use of D3 for each type of shot. Initiative, combat, use of scrolls, EVERYTHING!
The Playing Character's sheets are another expected innovation in the GDR landscape.
The entire system has been designed to be played by both players who prefer the narrative phases, and by those who only ask for more dice shots to destroy even more enemies!
The sheet is well divided between the two fundamental parts of the game: the Tactical part and the Narrative part. The Tactic Sheet is made up of all the attributes and tables for character's initiative, combat, stats, magical attacks and skills on the battlefield. The Narrative Sheet is made up of all those personal talents that allow the development of the narrative phases: a merchant too clever to be deceived, the ability to make a knot resistant to a rope, light a fire, convince a character too good to turn a second during an unsuccessful interrogation.
The system is designed to have two distinct areas, with their own scores completely disconnected. (High Charisma = Beautiful Sorcerer? No More!).
The main implication is the possibility of using the characters in the sessions of four types:
· Campaign of furious fights with no narrative part? Use only the Tactical Sheet!
· Investigation campaign where even the smallest clue is essential to continue and there aren't fights? Use only the Narrative Sheet!
· Balanced Campaign in which they are both important? Use both!
· Campaign Unbalanced but with a basic tactical or narrative side? Use the part of the Simplified Rules for the drafting of the sheet that you will least use!
The options are many and it will be you in the campaigns to decide with players and masters together the setting of the game!!!
Say goodbye to the ancestral method of character leveling. Experience points? Stuff from the past!
Sideralia is designed to create character with what is called "Level of Power", which is a number of points given the base character, that contains its inherent strength in overcoming difficulties. The "LoP" is determined at the beginning of the campaign and proceeding with the evolution of the character.
Choose one of the four "LoPs" and start the adventure! Each level brings unique abilities and immeasurable power!
- Human: A Hero who can change the fate of a city!
- Mutant: A Hero who can change the fate of a kingdom!
- Descending: A Hero whose power defies the very laws of his world, able to change its destiny!
- Ascendant: A Hero with unlimited potential, who in his maximum power is able to shape and change the fate of the entire universe of Sideralia!
It was 2014, a hot late summer day, we were four, Carlo, Manuela, Alain and Jessica, we were at Carlo's house, as almost every afternoon of that hot summer, we were playing one of our favorite role-playing games.
While we were taking a break drinking a coffee, we started talking about the many lacks of that game, the speech became a discussion about all the lacks that role-playing games had in general and Carlo said: "Guys, how nice would it be, to be able to play a game without all these gaps?", at that point Alain said: "In my opinion, the only way to do these, is to create all the rules by us!"
We stayed a few moments in silence, then we looked at each other and decided that writing the rules of the game by us, would be the only thing to do in order to finally play exactly the way we liked it.
That's how Sideralia was born, an idea of four friends who decide to use all their different skills to create something unique.
There is Carlo, we call he a "living manual", he has been playing since he was 14 years old, he has the largest collection of role-playing game manuals perhaps in the whole Europe, he knows every rule of every game, actually he wrote the entire manual of Sideralia.
Jessica, she is an archaeologist, studies the Middle Ages, in Sideralia she is responsible for the management of social networks, because (do not tell anyone) she is a real influencer!
Alain, network engineer, obviously only an engineer could have the ability to collect all our crazy ideas, order them and create the project you see today.
Finally, there is Manuela, an expert in management and communication, who checks that everything is fine and communicable to the whole world.
Today, almost 5 years after that hot summer afternoon, we are here to introduce you to our game, proud of the work done and aware of what remains to be done, we hope, with your help!
Now there are 11 of us: joined the original group, designers, 3D artists and graphics experts, we are a close-knit team that has made their passion a job.
After nearly 5 years of development, play testing, and community building, we wanted to take the next step and finish Siderlia’s first edition in proper form: hardback, with full color, professional editing and layout, packed with art by some of the best illustrators and miniatures by some of the best 3D artists.
We're passionate about this project, and intend to use the funds raised by this campaign to pay our layout artist, editor, and general artists to polish this project with the finish we feel it, and its fans, deserve.
The languages available are Italian and English, but we will consider the amount of backers from a specific region and we will be able to translate into other languages as well.
Keep in mind these are just estimates, and costs may rise based on weight increases from unlocked stretch goals and any optional buys you choose.
Indicatively these are the prices we expect for shipments:

Risks and challenges
This is our first Kickstarter campaign: we are proud of our game, we work on it very hard, but we are also aware that there is still a lot more to be done.
We want to assure you that we worked hard for this KS to be a success: we contacted professionals to guarantee the highest possible quality throughout the planning, production and shipment phases. The estimated delivery date is September 2020, but keep in mind this is only an estimate.
Also, due to the logistics of international shipping, backers in different regions of the world may receive their rewards sooner than others.
