SideQuests are back!
SideQuests are a collection of short adventures designed for Fifth Edition Dungeons and Dragons. These one-shot style campaigns are designed to be compelling standalone stories that can be implemented, played through, and completed in just a few sessions. Whether you're using them as a filler adventure between your own major story arcs, as one-offs to play with people unfamiliar to D&D, or just because you forgot to plan your next session, the second edition of SideQuests aims to be even more invaluable tools for your DM toolbox.
Each campaign comes with a variety of customization features: Adventure Hooks and Epilogues — so you can naturally ease your players in and out of each and every quest. SideQuests are designed to work in tandem with your own campaigns, so you can easily substitute anything within the modules for your own original content. Each volume also comes with a variety of role-playing, puzzle, looting, and combat scenarios, so players will enjoy them no matter what they personally value in a roleplaying adventure.
Every adventure module comes as a full-colour, beautifully designed PDF, as well as a more minimal print version: So you can either print the modules off, or run them digitally straight off of your laptop or tablet. Every module features stunning design, original artwork, and gorgeous photography.
As a graphic designer and freelance character artist, one of my biggest aims with SideQuests is to make a collection of digital publications that look every bit as legitimate as all of the gorgeous gaming books that line our shelves. Every SideQuest document has been designed down to the last detail: Page layouts are all beautifully designed, photography renders line the pages with visual flair, and character art all consists of all-original digital paintings.
Choose Your SideQuest!
The first SideQuests collection comprised of five modules (four base modules, as well as a Stretch Goal Bonus) that offered adventures for Level 1 through 5 parties. SideQuests Vol. II continues this natural progression, bundling four adventures for player characters from Level 6 to 9.
A remote ghost town in the canyon is stirring with an ominous presence: The long-dead denizens of the town have been resurrected by powerful necromancy, forming a newly risen army. Fight your way through hordes of the undead, explore the abandoned township, and delve into the necromancer’s lair to reverse the spell… Before it’s too late!
At the end of the fabled Mistvalley River is a aquatic haven of the Tritons. However, upstream, a colossal dam is being built by the fiendish Duke Dellinger, aiming to destroy the homeland that the Tritons have had for generations. Will you take Dellinger up on his offers of countless gold pieces and the progression of the realm of man, or will you aid the ailing Tritons and destroy the dam once and for all?
A bustling port city is under attack from a vile gang of pirates! Amidst the chaos, the players will be given a choice to either help the townsfolk and defeat the pirate rogues, or ally with the corsairs to take part in a life at sea. If your players have ever yearned for a life at the high seas, this open-ended campaign makes for a single-session encounter with incredible depth.
It starts with a letter. Then tapping at the window at night. Soon, friends and foe alike are revealing themselves as assassins. Your players will have to find word around town about the sinister Assassin Clan, and then use all of their investigation skills to discover the Clan's hideout. Once there, they will have to fight their way through countless traps, and defeat the leader of the ninja clan once and for all.
If you missed the first SideQuests Kickstarter campaign, never fear! At the Questgoer Tier, you will be able to get SideQuests Volume II, as well as the first collection of SideQuests modules at a discounted rate! On top of that, for the first weekend only, there will be a special earlybird pricing for the Adventurer and Questgoer Tiers - which means you'll get every reward perk from those tiers, but for a special price!
The Questgoer Tier will offer you adventure modules for Levels 1 through 9 (or 1-10, providing we hit our Bonus Module Stretch Goal!). That means you'll have SideQuests for all occasions, and all situations!
Upon the successful funding of this campaign on the first of October, all of the SideQuest Vol. II Modules will be delivered electronically in November 2017. Anyone that backed the Questgoer Tier will instantly receive all five SideQuests Vol. I adventures. The Friends & Foes Compendium is a small PDF guide of all of the NPC characters and original Enemies that you'll encounter in SideQuest Modules. My goal with Friends & Foes is to create a regularly-updated digital download of all of the SideQuests characters, and this Stretch Goal will allow for even more content.

Since we've hit this Stretch Goal, everyone that backed the ADVENTURER, QUEST-GOER, and HERO Tiers will receive an additional module!
CARNIVAL OF TERROR begins as players hear the rumours of gruesome murders happening in nearby towns — coincidentally following the arrival of a wondrous carnival. Could all be not as it seems? Could the enigmatic clowns and jesters of the circus be something far more sinister than they appear? Could the Funhouse, a maze of smoke and mirrors, be involved with the disappearances of local children? As players begin to delve into the mystery of the murders, they will find themselves faced with indescribable horrors…
$8000: SideQuests - The Township!
The lofty goal of $8000 would be something truly special: That would mean that SideQuests Vol. II officially outdid the first SideQuests! In the event of that happening, I wanted to do something truly special for you guys. The Township is a project that I've been developing alongside SideQuests - the goal being a small randomized hub settlement that encompasses and enables prompts for every adventure hook for every SideQuests adventure so far! The Township will include plenty of original NPCs, locales, and encounters -- all while providing a location-based framework to run your adventures from! With both SideQuest Volumes encompassing levels 1 through 10, The Township will let you run plenty of episodic campaigns for your players - or provide the perfect launching point for your own epic adventure!
Providing we can hit this ambitious goal, The Township will be available to Adventurer, Questgoer, and Hero backers as a PDF download in December 2017.
