We need KickStarters like you to help make this great game affordable. Every aspect of the game has been tweaked to perfection. We are ready to play you in a game of Bucketo... but to have a chance, you'll need one of your own to practice with.
Do you enjoy playing cornhole, ladder golf, horseshoes, washers and other yard games? If so, you will love Bucketo. Players attempt to toss chains into the bucket, or onto the edge of the bucket to score the maximum points. It can be played at the park, beach, backyard and even in your living room. This is an exceptionally fun game for 2 or 4 Players.
Place the Bucket 15ft away from your toss point. Each player is given 3 chains of the same color.
Player A throws 3 chains, one at a time.
Player B throws 3 chains, one at a time.
The bucket is scored and the round is complete.
There is no limit to the number of rounds that must be played before a player reaches 17 points.
The player who tosses first on any round will score the bucket, retrieve all the chains and will throw second on the next round. This allows players to maintain a rhythm, making for more exciting game play.
Chains inside the bucket = 1 point
Chains hanging on the bucket’s edge = 3 points
Player with the most points takes all the points in that round. Yup,
it’s winner take all! Whoever has the most points on the bucket takes their opponent’s as well.
If there is a point tie no points will be awarded for that round.
First player to meet or exceed 17 points wins.
The bucket is made of galvanized steel then powder coated for further protection and beauty. We tweaked the diameter and height over and over, until it was just right.
The specially designed rim is of stainless steel. It doesn’t only make the bucket look nice. The rim serves as a visual target and allows for the right amount of chain catch. This also protects the paint from chipping on the bucket’s edge.
We wanted the perfect amount of stick without making it too easy. Rubber, plastic, cork, textured paint and other attempts fell short of stainless steel.
A perfect balance of weight and length… specified by us. This was by far the most difficult part of the development process. Who knew not all plastic chains were equal? Too heavy, too few links, too light and too many links are just a few of the issues. Not to mention there are also different shape links.
It took a lot of playing research to find the right chains. These are large heavy duty chains and feel great in your hand. Oh, they also float! Imagine the possibilities.
BAIL & HANDLE
This subtle piece is most important part of the game. We don’t mean the wood handle. That is there so the bail doesn’t scuff your paint and to add a touch of class to yard games. Back to the bail (wire). Unlike many buckets, the bail is mounted under the bucket’s edge. Chains can enter, drop and slide freely with no obstructions. If your bucket has “ears” it’s not a genuine Bucketo™.
The concept is simple. Toss chains at the bucket, score points and win. At 15ft away however, it’ll take a bit of skill to win. You must work the chain differently for each type of shot on the bucket.
Bucketo competitions never seem to end the same way twice. It’s always an exciting finish. The way the game plays there is always a way for somebody to win, no matter how far back in points they are. The equipment, rules and setup are extremely simple. This makes for a great deal of enjoyment that can be shared by the whole family.
The game play of Bucketo calls for strategic decisions to be made on every toss. The scoring for each round is winner take all! If your opponent throws first, and does well, you may choose a forfeit approach throwing your chains away. If you go for it and fail to exceed their point total you’ll add to their victory. You may attempt to eliminate their points from the bucket by force. You might also take your first toss to reduce their points then overcome it with your next two tosses.
We believe that Bucketo is the best price for the most fun. Take a look at these popular yard games in comparison to Bucketo:
Cornhole – $100 + $50s/h
Ladder Golf – $70 + $35s/h
Bucketo – $35
As soon as you release the chain, you know if you have the shot. You can feel it. If you aren't feeling too good... try some of these throwing styles. Each method works a bit differently.
