About this project

Dog is a short film about a young man named Percy, who one night, sees a news report on terrorism.  Wanting to do his bit for the anti-terror cause, Percy enlists the aid of a mentor, Chuck, a failed soldier and extreme racist. Under Chuck's direction, Percy himself becomes a terrorist, victimizing a neighborhood Muslim, Atash, by kidnapping and killing Atash's beloved pet dog.

Atash, heartbroken that his best friend has gone missing, spends his nights and days trying to find him as Percy gradually escapes the toxic yoke of Chuck's paranoia.

Regretting what he's done, Percy struggles to find a way to atone for his heinous deed, setting the stage for a final confrontation between himself, Chuck, and Atash.

The film was previously budgeted at $7500, and successfully raised that amount during a previous Kickstarter campaign (check it out here).  However, several opportunities to acquire props and production values above and beyond what we were expecting have presented themselves, and we'd be foolish not to try to take advantage of those.

So, what are we asking for?  Another $2000.

And where will that money go?  It'll go towards renting a replica police car, authentic police and military (and possibly firefighter) equipment, as well as better, more cinema-friendly locations.

Technically, it's already gone towards those things, since "Dog" is being filmed from September 7th through September 9th, and some of the producers have been kind enough to front the money for the budget.

Yes, you've read that right... "Dog" is being filmed WHILE we continue the fundraising process.  We know we've already asked for a lot, but we feel that it's worth the added value to "Dog" to ask for a little bit more.  We hope that you do, too.
