WarmThoughts are riveting quotes embossed on coffee sleeves that include creative and eye- catching designs wrapped around your drinks.
As a lover of coffee and conversation, I combined the two to create a product line called WarmThoughts. It includes my hand-picked quotes and ideas combined with an array of colors, themes and sizes embossed to coffee sleeves, cups, and more. Rather, than the typical boring blank cup of coffee, WarmThoughts keeps your beverages warm, leaves you with a thought for a day. It is a conversation piece, an upbeat line, it makes you smile, tell your neighbor.
My next step was to make sure I wasn't crazy and decided to put my business plan to work. Retail was in the cards so I set to find out if WarmThoughts was shelf stable. I approached a big box retailer for a meeting and a date was set. On the day of the meeting, I didn't have much; but I had product, I had a plan and a pitch deck. I had something. The feedback received was positive and I was extended an invitation to test WarmThoughts. YES!!
As luck was moving in my direction, I received a call from a news station, that wanted to feature WarmThoughts on their show. Marketing was not in the plan yet, but decided it was a sign and something I could not pass up. The taping was so much fun and the crew was a blast. They enjoyed hearing of WarmThoughts and the journey ahead.
My plans for WarmThoughts include retail, e-commerce and much more. WarmThoughts will be packaged and marketed toward big box, dotcom, party, novelty, bookstores, gift shops and boutiques. I want to collaborate with coffee shops, offices, hospitals, and have many more surprises ahead. Also, I intend to offer contributions to charities to places where a WarmThought will have an impact with others who need it. Many people have coffee sleeves, but nothing like WarmThoughts.
At no time, did I ever think any of this would ever happen to me. As a single mom and son to raise, I had no option but to start my own company. The idea of having my own company was always a thought, but being a single mom, I was hesitant to try. It has been challenging, yet exhilarating, to be on my own and have the freedom to be creative and inspiring.
The funds used would help my future goals of the brand extension line with new creatives I am testing, a repeat order of the sleeves I started with for the retail order, and my attendance at the National Stationary Show in February and booth set up.
I want to share this journey with Kickstarter and their team of contributors that will help me in my dream of placing WarmThoughts in the hands of every coffee and tea drinker in the world. Thank You for taking the time to read my project, donate, and your belief in my vision and brand, WarmThoughts. Enjoy!!!
Risks and challenges
The challenge has been setting up my creative thoughts to paper or coffee sleeves. I have had to hire a designer to assist with implementation of my ideas. Also, I wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy when I thought of this; So, I pitched WT to a big box retailer and they liked it.
