This game is entirely made in the U.S.A.!  You don't have to camp outside the stores to get one of these, it's right here.  Don't miss your chance to get in on the ground floor of this once-in-a-lifetime historical event!  A signed first edition of the game will be just one of your rewards.   This company is progressing and production is moving at a fast pace.  An excellent graphic artist is working very hard on it, and a high quality game manufacturer is gearing up to make the first order of 1,000 two deck units, that is 2,000 decks, 12 units per carton.  The artist and our quality game manufacturer have plenty of experience working together, and that is making for a smooth process.  [8/28/13 Update:  All of the proofs are approved for printing!  The first order of 1,000 units, that's 2,000 single decks is ready to print any day now.  The game will be sold wholesale, 12 to a carton.  All  information required by the U. S. D. V. A. is being submitted so that the Company is designated a Veteran-owned business.  Because of the government's stringent requirements, this validation will appeal to more retailers, and ensure federal contracting eligibility for retailing the game at military and government sites.  All required NJ and MI state and federal documents were filed, are approved and in place, and the certificates are prominently displayed at the new business.]

The goal we set for the funds that are now needed will be barely enough to get the card game through the final stages of production, and it will be spent on the many costs involved in getting the first big order shipped out to retailers.  If the goal is exceeded, the money will directly into more production and marketing, offering it to the top, big box retailers.  The retail price will remain below average to stay competitive.  We are prepared to operate at a loss for a few years until the card game becomes well-known.   With your contributions, in any small amount, our upcoming obligations will be met.  None of the supporters' money will be used on payroll, since no personnel or additional members will be needed.  The manufacturer will take care of warehousing and fulfillment, and all ordering and payment will be handled electronically.

The picture that you see (a part of the whole), of the captain at the Ship's Wheel, will appear on the backs of all of the cards, and on the box.  This is the one game that the whole family will love to play together!   The rules and game play have been thoroughly tested, and the results have been better than ever expected--every age learns quickly, loves to play, and everyone has shown that they would like to play again and again.

Now, for the first time in history, you can follow the birth of a company, the production of its first new game, the entire story, and how far it will go!  What a concept!  You can follow it all right here...  www.twitter.com/ShipsWheelCards.

Because the game is for ages, starting at 6 years, all U.S. CPSIA child safety rules and regulations are strictly followed, and a lot tracking number and all of the compliance information will be printed on the box.  And MADE IN THE USA will be a major selling point.

The rules are now final, after months of adjusting and refining, and have been sent out for printing.  They are clear, concise, are on one page, and very easy to understand.  The simplicity of this card game was paramount since its inception.

The game is not only easy to learn and fun to play, but even for ages under 6, if played with just 3 or 4 cards to a hand, it will be a great way for them to learn shapes, colors, reading, cooperation, following direction, making decisions, and taking turns.  Adult players, too, will be developing new strategies in every new hand they play.  Each player has their own discard pile, which can be used to draw from by other players.  At a higher level of play, skill will come in decision-making, like whether to choose from the many discards or the deck; and which cards to save, and which cards to discard to improve your hand.

The Ship's Wheel Card Game is unique and unlike any other game.  It does not require speed play, it is more relaxing.  It's not like all the matching games out there, in fact, being different is the key, and is rewarded with a win!  It does not require memorizing cards, that can be a turn off.  Rather, the game moves along at a good pace, keeping it interesting and exciting.

You will see in the rules the many other inventive aspects that distinguish this competitive game from all the others.   And you may find that the hand that didn't look that good on the deal can suddenly make you a winner, with some skill and just a little luck.

We believe that this game will become a classic and everyone will want to have one in their homes.  Work hard, and have fun playing!

Risks and challenges

One unique challenge will be getting the game to retail this year before the holidays, so that would give us a big head start on funding the promotion and marketing in 2014. That is the short term goal, and I am successfully keeping the production moving quickly ahead.
The Ship's Wheel Card Game Company is a Limited Liability Company and is properly registered for tax and operating purposes with the IRS and the state. The cards, art, rules, and box were copyrighted on May 29, 2013, TM (trade mark) will appear on the box, and we will register the trademark too.
I have done a lot of research on potential setbacks in game production, shipping and marketing, and I always plan far ahead to avoid anything that could slow the operation down. When we see a road block ahead, we work on the solution right then, and keep moving toward the goal.
All of the manufacturers proofs will be thoroughly reviewed before approved.
The company will be fully insured, with Allstate Insurance Company writing the business policy, something that is required by the top retailers..
The business plan defines our short and long term goals, and policies and procedures are written to monitor and evaluate, and to take the actions needed to accomplish our goals.
Finally, the domain, www.ShipsWheelCardGame.com, will be under construction until the game is ready for retail. There you will be able to find everything about the game, the company, the rules, FAQ's, ordering information, contacts, and more!
The challenges are many, but not too many to stop the Ship's Wheel Card Game from being a best seller!
