Soft enamel pins are the type that have an embossed feel. When you run your finger over them, you can feel the ridges of metal. Hard enamel pins, by comparison, have a smooth finish. In the pin community, larger collectible "trading pins" like the Kalla pin are traditionally done in soft enamel, which I also like because it emphasizes the lines and has a great tactile quality. But for a wearable accessory, a lot of folks prefer the smooth hard enamel look, so I'm offering that style for the two smaller pins!
