We are Shiloh Hill from Greensboro, North Carolina, and we are finishing up our first full-length album. A few of us have previously released minor projects in the past but never anything of this caliber and quality. We have focused the last year on exploring new sounds and writing new music, letting a new trajectory of melodies resonate between us to create something more, to create something to remember. It has been a feverish and non-stop collective effort between us all to get this far.
We’ve saved thousands of dollars by recording at home but it doesn’t end there. The album still needs to be mixed and mastered for the sake of quality and the amount of time and care that has been dedicated to this piece of art. For that we plan to send the tracks to the very-talented Mr. Edd Kerr, a local mastermind in the world of music to help bring this all to life for us. He has mixed albums for some of our favorite local artists like Lowland Hum and Look Homeward and we can’t wait to capitalize on this opportunity to work with him as well. Edd was also responsible for mixing and mastering the single, “Wildflower,” you can download here -> https://soundcloud.com/shilohhill/wildflower
We chose Wildflower carefully as the single, not because we simply think it is better than the other tracks on our album, but rather, what this line from the song, “we were born to be more than sons and daughters,” encompasses within it and within the greater picture of us all. It’s the raw edge of what we are, a passionate and ambitious group working together to achieve something more in this record, the idea that we can create something bigger than ourselves. We are asking you to help us make this dream a reality.
After it’s all finished we want to share it with as many people as possible. To do that we’ve decided to book a month-long East Coast release tour. The problem is Shiloh Hill is still young. We’ve never toured outside the state before and we want to be sure we get to play for the right folks. To help we’ve hired a professional booking agency based in Nashville & New York City. As of this writing we’ve already set 11 dates in some cities we are very excited to play for. The booking agency isn’t cheap but we know it’s a necessity for us. We’ve managed to scrape together and pay for half of the campaign but we still need the funds to finish it.
So here’s the breakdown:
$200 to cover taxes and Kickstarter fees
$3,300 to Edd Kerr for the rest of the mixing and mastering
$1000 to the booking agency to finish booking the release tour
In this day and age Self Promotion is a major part of the process so every single dollar that you donate will not be taken for granted. Any funds we raise over our goal we plan to put towards hiring a PR Company to give the album the proper release it deserves.
We have found our calling and we want you to be a part of it.
