Printing!

I'm excited to announce that the Nature of Code book is now printing via CreateSpace!

Starting tomorrow, I will be transferring the addresses from the Kickstarter surveys into CreateSpace.  Some of you may receive your book as early as next week, some of you the week after, and hopefully everyone will have it by shortly after the new year.

For those of you who only received the PDF, the book is technically live for purchase as well:

https://www.createspace.com/4068419

I will likely be announcing this shortly, and there will be yet another announcement when the book posts to amazon.com (5-7 business days).

If you marked that you would like to pick up your copy locally in NYC (at ITP), you will receive an e-mail when the copies are ready.  Unfortunately, because ITP is closed during the holiday break this will most likely be after January 1st.  If you would prefer that I ship you your book in an attempt to get it sooner (I cannot control how fast CreateSpace will print however), simply send me an e-mail.

For those of you who requested a signed copy, it will take a bit longer to get to you as it has to be shipped to me first before I can send it on to you.  If you would prefer to skip the signing to get it sooner, let me know.

Thank you all for your patience and support during the almost 2 years it took to complete this project.

I'll have a few more announcements with further details as the book begins to ship and it becomes available through the traditional channels.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to e-mail me directly -- daniel@shiffman.net.

All best,

Dan

The really really almost probably last PDF update

Hello everyone,

In a few moments, you'll receive an update from FetchApp with another PDF.  This is a candidate release for print.  I'm going to spend 48 hours looking it over and making sure there are no horrific, glaring problems.  And then I'll print a proof.  And then I'll be ordering your copies.

If you notice anything at all, please let me know as soon as possible (by Wednesday, Dec 5).  You may also receive one or two additional PDF updates from FetchApp this week as I expect to be making minor adjustments.

Errors can be reported here:

Thank you!

Dan

One last PDF update

Hello everyone,

In a few moments, you'll receive an update from fetchapp with a new PDF.  I intend for this to be the last PDF update you'll receive before the final one that will go along with the print edition.  If you have any time over the next week, please take a moment to scan it over and let me know if you see any major issues with the document by December 1st.  I'm hoping to be ready to start printing the copies at the start of next month in order to have them mailed out to all of you in time for the holidays.

Known issues can be found here:

https://github.com/shiffman/The-Nature-of-Code/issues

The above link is also the best way for you to get in touch with me to report a problem with the document.  Any feedback, however small, however large is much appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

Dan

PS: I'm also in the process of updating the online version (http://natureofcode.com), but note that I am focusing less on fixes for HTML as I can always work on those once the print edition is in your hands.

New PDF to arrive via FetchApp

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that all of you will soon receive an e-mail titled "Downloads for Order M####" from fetchapp.   The e-mail will say "Thank you for purchasing from Daniel Shiffman," but rest assured you are not being charged for anything!

Once you are in the system, every time I update the book you'll get an e-mail alert to download!

If you do not receive the e-mail, it's because you haven't filled out your kickstarter survey.  I'll continue to add people in the system as I get survey responses.

Dan
