About this project
Resketch books are open-ended idea books made of high-quality reclaimed paper sourced in and around Chicago, perfect for making drawings, working through product ideas, writing poetry, and other creative endeavors.
Last year, I created a larger 7 x 9-inch Resketch book and I learned a ton about the production process, the product, and the awesomeness of all of the backers (and plenty of friends, too!). Thanks to you, I was also able to divert nearly 4 tons of paper – that's 8,000 lbs – from landfills and recycling centers, and send books out to some 1300 backers around the world!
More important, I found out that Resketch books inspire people. The different kinds of paper did exactly as I had hoped: create an active sketchbook that gave you feedback. Whether there was something about the color, texture, content, or some other interpretation, the random assortment of reclaimed paper expanded the possibilities of your creative process.
This time around I wanted to expand the idea by offering a utilitarian version of Resketch that's pocket-sized at 3.5 x 4.5-inch, and is perfect for doing good on the go, and is a perfect compliment to the larger book. I plan on producing 500 mini Resketch books, either packed individually or in multi-packs for this project.
A few months back, I created a small test run of these to gather feedback from people, and this info has been invaluable. While the pocket-size is super handy, these minis need to walk an important line between being interesting and useful with regard to the paper inside. Some people used it to sketch, other have used it for everyday tasks like grocery lists. And that's all perfectly fine!
To that end, the mini will have at least three different, mostly blank styles of paper. Simple and immediate, for quick doodles and notes on the go.
Grab from your pocket or bag, jot a note or doodle, and get back to life.
The funds will go toward the production of the books themselves at Digital Hub here in Chicago, envelopes and such, a letterpress-printed cover, a printed insert / back cover, and, of course, shipping costs.
Resketch has showed that something as simple as a sketchbook or notebook can become an interactive vehicle for creativity, doing good all the while. I am flattered and truly honored that you allowed Resketch to be part of that process, and I hope this mini version can join your sketchbook or journal family.
Thank you for your time, and please spread the word.

Risks and challenges
I've done this once already and learned so, so much. This time, I've simplified the process even further by eliminating some of the variables that caused delays.
Less variety of paper overall, no printed material inside, and gang-running as much of the process as possible. I also have all of the paper I need, and know exactly what and how to order for components.
As such, I do not foresee any delays.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
