Use this space to cheer the creator along, ask questions, and talk to your fellow backers. Please remember to be respectful and considerate. Thanks!
I was about to post to check you were all alright still, since we hadn't heard for a while, and we all know how utterly taxing this endeavor has been for you guys. But I notice a polish phase counting down on the site, so hopefully you're all ok.
I just want to say, that while things didn't go as planned, you guys have done a great job on delivering, even when it has gone over your budget. I hope you guys are going to try to market the games to make some of that up, and that eventually you'll feel up to trying another Kickstarter, though maybe using a few of the lessons you've learnt during this one.
I proud to have backed this project, you guys have done a great job, and we all await the final game with bated breath.
@Jonathan Sorry to hear that! We will try to be better about posting updates on Kickstarter in addition to the Journal (http://retrogamecrunch.com/journal/) and the Retro Game Crunch Twitter account (https://twitter.com/RetroGameCrunch).
Hey guys, do you think you could start giving us updates on when submitting themes and the voting on themes starts? There was a change to submitting that took me off guard, and I missed the voting entirely this time round!
I got my T-shirts! Thanks! This look great!! XD
Greg, the crunch version of the first theme is already out! http://retrogamecrunch.com/games/1/end-of-line The complete, polished version is tentatively scheduled for a Feb 5th release. The Journal always has the latest info: http://retrogamecrunch.com/journal/9/wax-on-wax-off
So is when the first of the six games going to be released?
Maybe someone knows something about this: I am on Mac OS X (Mountain Lion) and i use an Xbox360 (wired) controller, which is correctly recognized by the system using the drivers on Tattieboogle.net . However, the Enjoy app doesn't seem to work with my gamepad. Any of you aware of any solution about this?
The boss fight in Super Clew Land truly sucks. Terrible work.
The site should be ready by the New Year. As for themes, we looking for concepts or short phrases. Something unexpected and cool. Like our 8-bit graphic, the best themes will be more suggestive, less literal. So more like your first four suggestions than the last.
Do we have an ETA for the site to be Fully Operational? Looking forward to theme madness. Will the Themes to single things, like "Sharks", "Robots", or more detailed, "Robotic Sharks" or "Sharks Vs Robots", or silly amount of details, "Pacifist Flying Robotic Sharks with Lasers Attatched to their heads, On fire!" ?
Well, I did mean the video suggestions, but you still answered my question, thanks
Hi Simon, we'll be taking theme submissions when the full retrogamecrunch.com site goes up!
Looking forward to taking this journey with you.
I think when RetroGameCrunch.com goes up, that's when we submit themes and vote~ :)
Hey Shaun, can I stilll submit a theme suggestion?
Thanks for getting back to me, and congratulations on the kickstarter success! I knew it was a pretty crazy to begin with, and was assuming you guys weren't. But I'll be just as happy reading the dev journal. I can't wait for the development to begin - best luck to you guys once your project starts!
Thanks so much! It goes without saying but we could not have done this without you! Looks like I missed some comments during the final push. Let's do this!
@Tarwin, Thanks for the Haxe Flixel tip. This looks *very* promising!
@Andrew, Sorry we couldn't address your separate poster request before the Kickstarter ended. We'd like to get a proper store set up once things get rolling. We'll post an update here and on retrogamecrunch.com when we do!
@Logan, We don't plan to release the source code but there should be lots of practical morsels in the development journal.
Thanks again everyone!
Congrats Shaun and Co! Very happy to have helped make this happen! :)
Very excited for you all. I have to say a special congratulations to my son Matt. Mom is very proud of you!!!!
The total amuses me, though all sixes would be more amusing. :)
AHHH SO EXCITING I cant wait!
One more really good funded project !
Yay! I was honestly worried... and still can't understand why this didn't go through the roof but hey, all that matters is every 1687 backers + you 3 guys didn't get disappointed. Sweet! This is what the web was invented for.
Weeeeeeeeeeeehhhh, congrats guys! I'm very happy ^____^
Wow, So happy to see that this made it across the finish line successfully!
Was a nail biter for sure but I'm really looking forward to this project, super inspiring content will be hemorrhaging from this; motivating me to make my own stuff! Good luck! The hard part's about to begin!
Congratulations guys! That was a great run up to the finish. =)
Yay! I'm so happy I just had to up my pledge AGAIN so I could get a poster as well. Really, really looking forward to see this project happen.
WOOOTT :) That's exciting!
Yay! Funded! This should bright up at least half the Year of Bad Luck!
Well done! Having a chance to make games full time for 6 months is a dream come true for an indie game dev - I think it can be life changing - and I have no doubt you will make good use of the time. Can't wait for January!
Mean! first Kickstarter project and it made it. Can't wait to play.
So... what would you guys say to somehow doing a source release with these games as well? The Humble Bundle Mojam dev's did this with their 48 hour games and released the source code alongside the game itself. I found this to be an awesome learning experience and found it amazingly entertaining to look through/tweak and learn how they did things.
Just a thought - I know it's a big request, and I don't expect anything to come of it, but figured there wasn't really any reason not to ask.
WOOooo, we hit the goal!
We did it! Congratulations!
Freaking Amazing!! Congratulations to everyone!! :D
Congrat on the successful KickStarter! Look forward to playing the games.
I'm doing the @OneGameAMonth challenge so it will keep me motivated :))
Best of luck!
Congratulations Retro Game Crunch! You did it!
I mean ALL OF US backers and RGC, WE DID IT!!
Now that... is a sweet final 24 hours. I'm extremely glad to see this make it. Kudos to all you who upped your pledges to help this happen!
Sweet! Can't wait to have a crack at Super Clew Land.
