Exercising at the correct intensity can help you get the most out of your physical training, making sure you're not pushing too hard or too little. Calculate your desired target heart rate zone — the level at which your heart is being exercised and conditioned but not overworked.
Instead of pace per mile, heart rate training relies on bpm as a guide for how fast you should run. Heart rate training uses zones based on your maximum heart rate.
The following are the five different zones based on your maximum heart rate:
- Zone 1: 50 to 60 percent of maximum heart rate
- Zone 2: 60 to 70 percent of maximum heart rate
- Zone 3: 70 to 80 percent of maximum heart rate
- Zone 4: 80 to 90 percent of maximum heart rate
- Zone 5: 90 to 100 percent of maximum heart rate

Monitoring your Dynamic Heart Rate to get the best in your workout activity is the best way to both lower your resting heart rate and increase your maximum heart rate and aerobic capacity. Even small amounts of exercise can make a difference. Check your resting heart rate early and often, paying closer attention to your heart health than previously possible.
BEAT 20 contains built-in, reusable storage memory with the capacity for 260 hours / 100 training sessions. The data starts being recorded as soon as you put the monitor on. What's more, you can upload all this data to the Shanren Sports app, allowing you to have it available to examine, analyse and compare with your past and future heart rate data.
Use BEAT 20 to keep track of your training. If you find yourself continuously working in zone 4 or higher, you might want to slow down. You can work with a professional trainer or running coach to help you determine a workout schedule based on your goals.
In order to prevent over-exercising, BEAT 20 provides a gentle tap on your front chest when your heart rate reaches it's desirable maximum. This is your cue to immediately adjust your training intensity.
You might want to back off to a more comfortable pace if you’re consistently reaching your maximum heart rate while running. Stop exercising if you feel lightheaded, dizzy, or ill.
SHANREN BEAT20 has ANT+ and BLE4.0 Dual Modes Communication that allow you to have the data it captures to be shared with your watch, phone, bike computer or other Bluetooth and ANT+ enabled devices.

Spring Training with the Beat 20 ECG Heart Rate Monitor

This season I have the chance to try this new ECG Heart Rate Monitor to train with. Unlike other heart rate monitors (that I've attempted to use), this one is easy to set up and get working right out of the box. Comes fully charged with recharging ability via USB cable. It actually shows your real-time ECG wave as if you're in the doctor's office! Pretty advanced. Connects to your phone via Bluetooth and the sport app, it will store your training sessions which can be saved and uploaded elsewhere.
The Beat 20 sensor is waterproof, making it suitable for everything from sweaty weight lifting to swimming pool laps. Also gives you: distance, speed, steps taken, cadence, data storage and analysis with a vibration warning when you are reaching your heart-rate threshold. Your personalized profile within the app shows YOUR maximum heart rate based on age and other individual factors. It can also be paired with your bicycle computer so you can have all that data in one place during your ride. This is a bit more complicated and you'll need to be sure that your bicycle electronics has either Bluetooth or ANT+ connection capabilities. Perfect also for walking, running or weight lifting sessions at the gym. The chest strap itself is very comfortable and easily adjustable. Quite impressed so far with the Beat 20 and can't wait to start seriously training with it this spring.

1. Why is your product more precise than other similar products?
SHANREN BEAT 20 tests the functionality of the construction built by a massive amount of myocardial cells as well as the instant cell voltage changes using the principle underlying a clinical ECG test. The SHANREN BEAT 20 ECG cardiotachometer reaches a 24-bit precision rate and a 1ksps sampling rate with the help of oversampling technology. The built-in PGA Amplitude Stability dynamic range works within 1mcV to 2.4V. The algorithm of the dynamic ECG heart rate capturer built into the SHANREN BEAT 20 can offer an output in terms of heart rate data with a precision rate that reaches ±1bpm. Most photoelectrical heart rate watches and devices work under the principle of PPG, calculating the heart rate by capturing the pulse wave and by illuminating blood capillaries with visible light. However, this is subject to external factors like light, perspiration, and skin abnormalities, causing an average error rate around 10-25%. The SHANREN BEAT 20 ECG is far more precise than that.
2. Is the vibration warning really helpful? What is the vibration frequency?
The vibration warning may avoid risks caused by a very high heart rate. When the SHANREN BEAT 20 is connected to the Shanren Sport pp, users can customize the maximum heart rate warning, so that the cardiotachometer does not notify users to adjust to the sports activity intensity for heart rate control.
3. Can I swim with this product?
The SHANREN BEAT 20 has a high level of waterproofing, which can function at up to 30 meters deep under water. This, along with the data storage function, means that you can stop worrying about your fitness tracker when you're doing water sports.
4. How can I differentiate each record of the data stored in the SHANREN BEAT 20?
The SHANREN BEAT 20 will continuously record the heart rate data for as long as it is used and it stops working when removed from the chest. It will start recording again when it is again wrapped around the chest. We recommend connecting the SHANREN BEAT 20 to the Shanren App for synchronizing the time and other basic settings in the device’s initial use.
5. Is this device compatible with other apps?
Yes, the SHANREN BEAT 20 is compatible with most apps that work within the standard Bluetooth protocol.
6. How long does the charging time take?
It only takes 2 hours to fully charge the SHANREN BEAT 20.
Risks and challenges
Since the first mass-produced product, the Shanren team has developed more than 10 products from when we began in 2012. The tooling of BEAT 20 has already been completed, so we are confident that we can deliver this product to our backers as planned.
