Stretch Goal: $40k = Concert Tour!
Hey everyone! I've had a dream for many years of putting on a full concert tour. I want to travel and give concerts across India, the USA, UK, Dubai, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and hopefully more! I'm going to traveling with my full band and crew, and I can't wait to see each and everyone one of you there!
But I need your help! I think this will be possible if we can reach $40,000 on kickstarter... touring is expensive! We will also need the assistance of sponsors, venues, and any organization willing to give support. Feel free to contact me: firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are a venue or student organization that would like to host a concert, please email me: email@example.com
I'd also like to point out that we will now have an opportunity to give private concerts all over the globe! If you want us to play at your house, pretty much wherever you are, shoot me an email!
Two years ago, YouTube became my home for sharing my music with the world. It's created many wonderful opportunities for me, and allowed me to connect with people all over the globe who support the music and the concept of The Shrutibox. I can't say how grateful I am to everyone who has shared my videos and bought the MP3's in the last couple years. Without you, I simply would not be able to do what I love!
The difficult part about being an independent musician is achieving a great quality product with limited facilities and resources. The studio behind every video you see unfolds from a backpack carrying my laptop, microphone, camera, and small midi keyboard. I travel to musician friends and family who agree to host me at their apartment / restaurant / venue and record them then and there. I just set up a mic and often hold the camera myself. Usually my best chance at soundproofing is to hope that a loud truck doesn't drive by while I'm recording!
Thus far, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to make this process work. But I want to be able to take this concept a step further, and for that, I need your help. I want to be able to pay the deserving folks in the band, hire talented lyricists, and pay the artist fees to get some of South Asia's best singers. I also want to work with a team to help market, promote, and distribute the music.
This project also marks the beginning of an exciting collaboration between myself and IndianRaga, a new venture that aims to bring the Indian Classical music scene online. We share a similar vision: that Classical music is a fluid, multicultural, progressive genre, with borders and definitions that are constantly being pushed forward. With the IndianRaga team on board as executive producers, I truly believe this project will reach new heights.
Here's how the budget for this project breaks down:
30% will go towards hiring phenomenal musicians, singers and lyricists.
20% will go towards equipment that can produce the same high-quality sound and video as a professional studio. (it's actually less expensive than paying for studio time)
15% will go towards designing and building a new web page where the new album will be premiered and available for download.
10% will be reserved for printing and shipping the CD's, DVD's, posters, etc.
5% will be used for marketing and publicity.
The remaining funds are reserved for Kickstarter's and Amazon's fees.
Once we have the funds, we can go ahead and start making the songs and videos!
Risks and challenges
Most of the music is already composed and ready for recording, which means that the hard part is over! The next step is going into the studio and making the final version of the songs and videos. The team I am working with is incredibly enthusiastic, dedicated, and capable, and I am fully confident that we can address any potential setbacks that may arise.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
