Thank you for stopping by and checking out the Graika brothers' revolutionary step forward, in the realm of mobile gaming; Sphero Glide! Glide through beautiful environments from around the world while tackling a variety of fast-paced objectives. Compete against your friends in a hand-ful of competitive game modes, including: bowling, timed-circuits and stunt modes.
We have been developing Sphero Glide for 3 months and it is really coming together nicely. How hands-on and realistic a flying game would be using a controller that could accurately simulate flight dynamics! Sphero Glide has opened up a portal to a land of infinite possibilities. Put down your joysticks, theres a new Ball in town!
By taking advantage of the powerful game engine, Unity3D, we have integrated real gliding physics. This allows the environment to affect the gliding, with elements such as wind and snow - proving to be the most sophisticated gliding game on the market!
We realize not everyone owns a Sphero, so we created some great 'Backing' levels to help you out! Heres the GREAT news! Sphero Glide can be played with both your smart-device's accelerometer and Sphero!

It was several weeks before starting this project that we attended the Sphero Hack Tour in Seattle. It was here that we came across this mysterious, dynamic, and mind-awwing creature...Sphero. During the event, my brother and I began development on a game called Sphero Arena. In a nutshell, the idea of the game was to clash Sphero's together until one Sphero was left standing (here is the geekwire.com article describing our project. If you make your way to the end of the article - a video of Mr. Skylar Graika, giving a demo of Sphero Arena can be found).
Using the Sphero's driving ability for our Sphero Arena app was pretty fun, but throughout the event we kept asking ourselves, "What happens if you take the little bugger by the ball and trigger its internal rotational-gyro to provide controller-like output?". The bricks had been laid. While driving home from the event we both sat silently as the Seattle rain thumped on the windshield...and then the silence broke. In a burst of excitement, Casey suddenly exclaimed, "Sphero..." as I delivered the sentence's finishing blow, "-Glide!". The next several weeks, we planned and started to capture all the unique features needed to make this game brilliant. We knew what had to be done and we knew it wouldn't be easy, but the same goes for all revolutions in the gaming community!
You have plunged into our vision - now we ask for your help to make this gaming experience be heard around the globe. The stage is set, the foundation has been laid, the scope of this project is all that remains. That's why we ask you, the cyber-citizens of Kickstarter, to support Sphero Glide.
As we near our initial funding goal, we will begin to introduce the milestones we have set in place, making the project's scope DYNAMIC! How will YOU help shape Sphero Glide?

Risks and challenges
In order to provide a truly breath-taking flight experience, we must make 100% sure that our animations and flight dynamics are fluid and perfectly reflected into the 3D environment. Anyone who has worked with 3D animation, knows just how time-consuming and frustrating of a process this is.
In addition, since Pilotwings 64 is our inspiration - implementing a variety of game modes and challenging circuits is a must!
As of now, Sphero Glide is only playable on the iPad, iPad2, iPhone 4/4S/5. As we near our funding goal, we will introduce a Milestone to support Android devices.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
