humble link for the game doesn't work, just gets an error message, tried contacting the project group, haven't received a reply at all = /. All I have is the cd ost to a game I can't even access. I know the game's very cheap on steam, but the point is that it's paid for, and I don't have it.
Yes I have a link, no it does not work, and no it is not on my humble bundle..= /
Nevermind: apparently the key is already available through Humble Bundle. I at least didn't receive any emails or anything about this, so maybe that would be a good idea so others don't have to blush as hard as I am currently :)
Looks like the game is now available on Steam. As per your earlier update backers should be getting Steam keys, correct? What's the procedure for getting our keys, or has the plan changed?
I have a code and trying to figure out where to use it? I'm seeing people say they were emailed a link. I wasn't just was sent a code after not receiving it and asking for it. So please help me. I just want this game. I have it for Iphone/Ipad.
Have received my goods now. Thank you very much.
I have not receive a single reply from the dev for months regarding my game. they have yet to deliver what I had pledge!
Finally came around to playing it through (PC version here). It's a very good mobile game! The only thing IMHO not fitting in the game is the "little girl", because she "produces" the key and that alone would make here the prime suspect, but then she "vanishes".. irritating :-)
The "skeleton crew" joke left me ROFL.
Me too....I havent even receive the game codes. I know I late to submit my appleid but you doesnt seems to reply any of my msg.
just finished my copy of the game. no spoilers:
"It looks like it's leading to- leading too..." A Sequel!!
keep us posted i want MORE!
I am very disappointed that I have to go this way but as you (SFB) are not responding to my messages for over a month now, my last option seems to be to post here. I never received any physical goods (2 t-shirts and cd) from you. You promised to check this, but that was over a month ago and since then you do not answer to my mails. So, please bring that to a good end and contact me (better send me the stuff I already paid for). Your game is great but your behavior is really disappointing.
I know you are busy with the recent release of Detective Grimoire however I never received the T-shirt. I wasn't sure if they were ever shipped? I've been incredibly busy with work so I didn't realize it'd been months since I sent my address. Anyways, if you have any word on this I'd appreciate it.
I've tried messaging/emailing you with no response over this last month so I hope to hear from you soon.
@Edward: No, you can't use that code. Send SFB a message ("contact me" link in the blue box on the right.)
I had a key sent, but iTunes is telling me "The code is only valid for customers of the United States store."
Will I be able to redeem it and use it? - I'm worried I might use up the key and not be able to play the game.
I had the same error as Duffadash - Dependency is not satisfiable: adobeair (>= 1:184.108.40.206). Installing from within Air worked though, thanks (I'm running Linux Mint 15).
I seleted "exit to menu" from the options menu and the game just crashed.
The good thing is: It left me with a working save game that I could start the next time I launched it.
Besides from the technical difficulties the game itself is pretty nice, though. :)
The app on android has some bugs:
- switching to the home screen or the lock screen and coming back resets the game. It is not where I left if but in the main menu
- the first bug has made me start over from the beginning again and again, because I cannot select a savegame from the three slots, only create a new one. Now I have three filled slots that are all broken and I have to delete one to start over... again. :(
Just played and beat the game and I have to say thank you for all of yah'lls haqrd work! The wonderful efforts involved showed beautifully from the art, the game play ,voice acting, story! Great game! Thanks again I enjoyed it thoroughly :D
@ Håkon: The 100% is talking to everyone about all the possible clues. I didn't get the tent either my first run-thru didn't want to drop the time to test 10,000 combinations.
Then I thought it would be one of the dates Echo mentioned and it was, 1920 something I think (I can't check since it auto-opens the door when you get the combo right)
I found a typo; designing was spelled as as 'desining' in the costume design entry. Also some of the descriptors were off I think in the clue journal. The leggings say "covered in the same slime as the fireplace poker" but I hadn't gotten the poker yet (I identified each slime covered thing as I got it).
Hey! iOS was great! It was a fun play though a bit short but whatever! Still well worth it. Interesting environmental message. I enjoyed Arin's voice acting a lot. Cheers!
Thanks to Ragnheidur Haraldsdottir - your suggestions helped me get past the errors. In addition to the clue item error messages, I had a few times where the screen would be darker than normal (I could still see the background image, but not the icons at the corners of the screen) and I couldn't proceed. But exiting and re-starting the app helped me get past it.
The voices, characters, writing, and atmosphere were excellent. I was SO happy to see the To Be Continued at the end of the game. I am excited to continue with these characters. I hope some of the characters (like Sally Spears) get cameos in the next one.
I just played through the game on my Kindle Fire HD and all I can say is "Wow!"
I loved every second of it (well, almost... in the intro, there were some issues with the text appearing after being spoken and the picture skipping, but those issues stopped as soon as the game started properly).
The atmosphere is terrific, the graphics are awesome, the music is fantastic and the voice acting is superb.
Sure, the game is a little on the easy side, but the great writing and fun story make up for it in my opinion.
Thank you and please, bring us more Detective Grimoire adventures in the not too distant future.
As an example of how easy some of the puzzles was, the first one, on the gate. I did not need to move the left chain. I only moved the right one, and the left one just followed. So I could just open it by following the path on the right side. Not really a puzzle at all. Anyways, just trying to help :) I liked the game :)
As an fyi, on my transformer tablet, it crashes about 1 minute into the intro cut scene. On my Motorola Maxx the humble app won't even download the game(other games come down fine).
Having trouble getting the game to work on Bodhi linux, which is based on ubuntu 12.04. Can't seem to get adobe air installed without damaging my system ( removing stuff ). From the apt repositories I would need to remove casper and a few other apps to install the deps for adobe air ( after adding the lucid partner repo that has adobe air )
It was a nice little game. I did find a bug, though. When I first talked to Folder, I chose the option: "I'm writing bad things about you in my notebook." and the game would crash after Grimoire finished speaking (the app needed to force close). I tried once more with the same result, but once I chose a different option, the game continued.
I didn't see the private message about filling in the form to get the iOS copy until today. How long about do you think it will take to receive it now that I've submitted that information?
The "Quit to main menu" button only draws a black blurry thing on the right of my screen, and I am still at the options screen.
One more thing: I have just finished the game. But the savegame says 96% done? Might be because I never cracked the code of the tent? But I still got to finish the game.
Just finished the game :) Fun play and entertaining story :) Just wish the puzzles would be a bit harder. At least some of the puzzles should have been hard enough for the player to feel "proud" that he made them. That would have added well to the gameplay :) But it was a fun game ;) And loved the voices :)
Just finished the game.Well worth the waiting.
@ Michael Hartmann - OotG/Dream Traveller : Thank you. Problem was I was sent the wrong key, and the Humble bundle wasn't set up yet.
@Duffadash: Thanks for the tip on the fullscreen stuff! I have to admit I'm no Linux expert, I've only really used it on my raspberry pi and on my Eee pc for this project! I'll keep that in mind for others who might have the same trouble, and I might even see if I can get a guide put up on the Humble pages!
I figured out what caused the weird aspect ratio and the game running in windowed mode. It appears that when marking that the game should run directly from the Adobe Air installer (after a successful install), it starts up in a window. Exiting the game and running it from a shortcut instead fixed it.
I just finished the game, and I quite enjoyed it, although it was a bit on the easy side.
I experienced a bit more flickering, but nothing game-breaking.
You might want to implement a full-screen option in the options menu (and perhaps an option to pick the resolution), I kept getting the feeling that I was missing a bit at the bottom of the screen too (as I could only see the top half of the name of each location as I entered them, as seen on the last picture in the image album I linked to below).
Anyways, thank you for making a wonderful game.
Thanks for the key! I just finished the game and i have to say that i really enjoyed the voices in the game. ;)
@Michael: We'll definitely be patching that up over the weekend! The Humble guys aren't in over the weekend to upload the new version so it'll go up Monday probably, but as you said, not too pressing.
@Duffadash: The Linux build was the one I was worried about the most, as there are so many variables, and it's a much much older version of AIR it's running in. Glad to hear it's playable though! The VHS effect is amazing, wish I could claim credit for it, but I have no idea what's going on there. Going to have to blame AIR for that one!
the .deb is giving me a an error:
"Dependency is not satisfiable: adobeair (>= 1:220.127.116.11)"
Which is strange as I actually do have the 2.6 version of adobeair installed.
The Adobe Air application is installing just fine though.
I get some weird flickering in the menu (depending on where I place my mouse), almost like an old VHS tape (pictures here: http://imgur.com/a/tpyxl).
The game seems to be running just fine though.
@João: Just click the link to the Humble Store and follow the directions. Then you get another email with the download link.
In the Mac version "quit to menu" in the settings doesn't work (at least with OS X 10.9.1). It's still possible to end the game with the esc key, but you can't get to the main menu. Not a high priority problem, but something you might want to look into later.
We're seeing a few reports of these errors come in, which is really upsetting. The game worked great on every iOS device we own, and we own lots now! I had thought that having the game work on all of ours would mean it'd be fine on the others, but clearly not. It seems like we'd need to have one of every device to test on, which is both tricky and expensive.
A soon as I've sent out the codes to everyone, I'll be starting work on fixing these bugs. I've managed to track down some local people with the devices we don't own, so hopefully I can figure out what's going wrong and patch it up!
I got these error messages in the iOS version also. Seemed to happen every time I found a clue item (i.e. after finding it and going back to play mode). What worked for me was pressing home button to get out of the app then double clicking the home button (to get up open apps) and closing the app from there. Then you just open it again normally and everything was saved and I quickly got to where I was before the error with nothing missing. Annoying, sure, but at least you can continue the game.
Hi, where do I activate the windows key?
IOS Version: FIRST STEP off the boat - I get ERROR #3672 at DGGame/handleGlobalErrors. I can't close the window that almost completely blocks the game. The game seems to be running behind this massive white rectangle, since I can touch the remaining areas and get responses. HELP
Using iOS version, when I pick up the lockpick, I get a TypeError:Error #2007 and can't close/get past that screen to advance.
Sorry about the code troubles guys! It's like Apple doesn't want us to buy you guys your copies or something! It's being sorted though, more details in an update I'm about to make.
@Maik: I don't know how often they check the comments. You can send them a message. Just use the "contact me" link.

Hello I just saw that the game has been released!
First of all, congratulation! I have already sent an apple ID and etc information
I just wonder when will we get the game? How do we get access to the game?
