Hello! I'm SesameMilk, an illustrator and merchandise designer from California. I love creating and drawing all things cute!
Dessert Animals is an enamel pin series designed by myself and inspired by animals and sweet things from all around the world.
Pin Selection *IMPORTANT*
Different pins will be unlocked as more Stretch Goals are reached. You will not have to select which pins you would like until the very end of the Kickstarter Campaign, giving you the chance to choose from a larger variety of available enamel pins after they have been unlocked.
Funds gathered through this Kickstarter will help to cover the costs of creating each pin, each pin's mold, backing cards, shipping from the manufacturer, and Kickstarter fees.
Each enamel pin features:
- Hard enamel
- Rose gold plating
- Approximately 1.5 inches in size
- Pastel pink rubber clutches
- Sturdy backing card
The original Kickstarter goal ($350) will cover the expenses of the first enamel pin, Dango Tanuki, listed below.
60% - Pin Production: The most expensive part of this project is getting the pins made! This includes not only the cost to create the individual pins, but also the cost to make the molds for each pin.
30% - Shipping, Packaging, and Safety Costs: The next largest expense will be the cost of shipping, both to ship the pins from the factory to my home in the states, as well as the cost of shipping to backers. A small amount will also go towards paying for pin packaging as well as any unexpected costs that may pop up during the manufacturing process.
10% - Kickstarter Fees
- Late December: The Kickstarter launches and runs for 30 days.
- Late January: The Kickstarter campaign ends.
- Early February: Funds will be received after about 15 days and surveys will be sent out for your pin selections and mailing address info.
- Early February: Production will approximately take between 2 to 3 weeks.
- Mid to Late February: It will take about 1 to 2 weeks for the pins to be shipped to me.
- Late to Early April: I will package and send out your orders as soon as the pins arrive.
You can expect to receive your pins around mid to late April. Please make sure that your address is correct to prevent any unnecessary delays. If there are any setbacks in the production process, I will keep you updated.
Here is an example of enamel pins I made that were also funded through Kickstarter!
Risks and challenges
This is my second enamel pin kickstarter, so I have experience designing and making these pins. The manufacturer I am using has been creating enamel pins for almost a decade and has a proven track record among other artists for quality and consistency.
When working with manufacturers, there is always the possibility for delays with manufacturing and shipping. I will be extremely transparent and open about the pin production process and will notify backers immediately should any problems arise.
I will also personally inspect each pin to ensure I am sending only the highest quality pins to my backers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
