Who said astrophysics had to be hard?
Gravity, orbits, black holes, wormholes, meteors... lasers?! With gameplay that's easy to learn, but hard to master, we challenge you to become masters of gravity and planetary physics. Luna's Wandering Stars lets the player control moons to absorb and collect asteroids throughout the solar system.
The story’s second-person narration will challenge the norms of game storytelling. A mysterious entity assigns you the name Luna, giving you a portion of his powers. Along the journey, you start to understand why he places his trust in you, and how your universe connects with his.
In addition to the single player, this game will give you the tools to create and share your very own levels. Take a look at the Level Editor & Online Sharing section for more info.
Why did we make this game?
Gravity is one of the most interesting natural forces out there, and we want to show you that a game based on Newton's law of gravitation can be fun and interesting.
Luna's Wandering Stars Theme- Composed by David Forman:
Luna's Wandering Stars is a 2D action puzzle game that utilizes realistic planetary physics to present interesting and challenging puzzles.
You will use a variety of powers and tricks to control planetary movements, such as changing gravity, designating velocity, and applying force. Easy to understand, but difficult to master, Luna's Wandering Stars appeals to casual gamers and hardcore perfectionists alike.
As Luna travels through the Solar System, you'll gain fun powers and tools with the help of the planets. Each power brings a unique challenge to the gravity-based gameplay:
★Mercury★ Give moons a velocity in order to set their course.
★Venus★ Use rockets to apply a force and change moons' orbits.
★Earth★ Change the gravitational strength of the planet.
★Mars★ Obstacle-destroying laser. Pew pew!
★Jupiter★ Create mini black holes and see how it affects the objects around it...
★Saturn★ Modify the density of moons by changing their volume.
★Uranus★ Slip moons between moments in time.
★Neptune★ Create force fields. Use angles and reflection to your advantage.
★Pluto★ Reposition Pluto to influence moons' orbits.
Environmental objects can both help or hinder your goal of collecting asteroids. These objects include:
What's the point of playing around with orbital physics if you can't create your own planetary levels? That's why every PC, Mac, and Linux copy of Luna's Wandering Stars will include a free level editor and the ability to go online, where you can:
- Create and play all community-made custom levels
- Share and rate all online levels
We're working hard to make sure that the final level editor has an intuitive interface. Think you've got what it takes to construct interesting levels?

Serenity Forge is an indie developer, founded by Zhenghua Yang, that seeks to change and enrich your life by creating experiences that challenge the way you think.
We plan to make that happen one game at a time, and we strongly believe in the power of tangential learning. The core team of Luna's Wandering Stars include Zhenghua Yang (Z), Takumi McAllister, David Forman, Boan (Dian) Ding, and Kevin Zhang.
We're dedicated to making great games, and we've put hundreds of hours into making this game out of our own pockets, but we can't complete Luna's Wandering Stars without your help.
Donations will go toward software purchases (Unity Pro, Logic Pro, etc.), continuing development in design, programming, 3D art, music, and other miscellaneous costs that contribute to independent game development; a hungry indie game dev is a grumpy indie game dev!
Risks and challenges
Fortunately, the risks of this project are low. We are well underway in development, and all the basic programming and design structures have been established. We want to make a game that reflects our donors' enthusiasm for the game, so we will spend more time to fulfill the appropriate stretch goals when they are met. The core team behind Luna's Wandering Stars is finishing development on a full-time schedule, so we greatly appreciate your support! Thank you, and please spread the word about this game!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
