On January 27th 2011, The Studio of Electronic Music, Inc. will be presenting a concert of works that utilize the unique combination of percussion and electronics. Karlheinz Stockhausen's seminal, and rarely performed, work "Mikrophonie I" will be presented along with MC Maguire's work "Narcissus auf Bali". We are raising funds to pay for the materials and artists involved with presenting these works.
We are hoping to pay all of our performers a modest fee for preparation and performance. There are four percussionists and two technologists required for this concert. We are planning to pay MC Maguire a stipend for traveling out to Windsor CT to be present for the concert and speak with the audience.
We had to purchase the score to Karlheinz Stockhausen's "Mikrophonie I" which was about $175.00. Following the performance this score will be donated to The Hartt School's Allen Memorial Library.
We have also budgeted a certain amount of funds for publicity for this show so that we can bring the rare opportunity to hear these pieces to a larger audience.
The more we can exceed our fundraising goals the more we can ensure to keep events like his happening in the Greater Hartford area.
Every little bit helps. Thanks.
