WEE Monthly Update #12

Hi Backers,

We're here with another update on WEE.

Translation check of WEE02 is roughly 75% done. Porting work for WEE02/03 will start in January as we finalized contracts earlier this month.

We are also sharing a partial road map for the project, however please understand this road map is almost a year long and things will change.

WEE03 PC will be released in late December.

WEE02 Port will be released in late Spring

WEE03 Port will be released in late Summer

WEE01 Port will be released in late Fall

These ports will include the 1080P art upgrade. Once the ports are complete we will then focus on getting the ready for console. Physical copies of the PC version will be the Unity ports and is currently planned to be released in Winter of 2017 to backers.

      > If you look at our other projects that have been crowdfunded such as ChronoClock, Memory's Dogma, KARAKARA, Ne No Kami, and Root Double it shows we've improved greatly on delivering products. While there are still cases where we overshoot deadlines we've been communicating delays as well as continuing working towards meeting obligations of campaigns.

Can we get a number of how many people are still working on WEE? Right now it seems you have maybe one lone unity developer committed to it. This is the project that put you on the map, and it deserves better.

Can the other physical goods like OST, tapestry, t-shirt, artbook shipped earlier? Most of them don't need a translation.

      1) No, it would be stated as WEE03 Port if that was the case
      2) It has been translated by the same team that has been checking over 02 and 01
      3) Underestimated scope of work in conjunction with porting costs and time needed due Japanese documentation of the Engine as well as inexperience in leading large projects.

While Randy Au is associated to the company he will not be representing us at the web conference. We also do not plan on joining in talks at this time.

      I have two questions:

      1. When you say "WEE03 PC", does that also include the Linux build/Humblebundle distro?
      2. Will this WEE03 PC go through a proper TL check phase before release, unlike past episodes?
      3. How and why did this project end up like this?

The roadmap seems extremely daunting and I can't help but feel us backers deserve a more thorough explanation. This project was supposed to be finished in May 2015. Your story needs to be told not only because we deserve to hear it, this would also be a good time to mend your relationship with the "hardcore" VN community.

Here I have a suggestion. Your guy Randy Au is heading a VN web conference in January. Perhaps share the story of WEE kickstarter woes with the VN community there.

Speaking out of personal interest, I made it my point not to buy your other titles until this one is released in full, but Tokeijikake no Layline seems mighty tempting. Convince me that you still have every intention of working on this project with respective capacity. Because right now it seems like it was put on a backburner.
