Sumire just released to backers before store release
Hi backers! Randy here w/ an important update!
Sumire is out for backers! ＼(^o^)／
Observant backers might have noticed a steam update hit for the Narcissu Anthology game today, Narcissu Sumire has been pushed out to you guys before everyone else. Season pass holders will get it later in the week when it officially releases on the Steam Store.
I want to thank all you guys, the backers, as well as the patient staff at Sekai Project, and the many Narcissu fans in the world for making this project possible. It's been an honor being allowed to work as the lead translator on this project. Really, working on this full series has always been a dream for me.
But we're not done yet! What's next:
Physical goods production
Thanks to everyone answering your backerkit surveys, We've locked everything down this week, and we can now finalize the order quantities, sign off on designs and proofs, get finalized quotes, etc. It's not exactly a speedy process, but we'll be working on getting it to you guys as fast as possible. We'd rather take the time to get things produced right than ship you guys something we're not proud of.
We'll send out digital goods as they become ready
As we get ready for the physical goods, we'll be able to finalize the digital rewards also. We don't have a timeline yet, but we're planning on releasing those as they become ready so you can enjoy them as soon as possible.
Narcissu 1st and 2nd refresh will be coming!
Surprise! It's coming full circle.
This is the final piece of big work -- I'm working on an updated version of the original Narcissu 1 and 2 games using the new engine so that all the chapters are consistent. Along the way I'll personally go through and freshen up the 10 year old translation to fit the more modern style of the rest of the series. It's not a quite full re-translation, and there won't be any major changes in content, but fans should notice a difference.
In doing so we'll lose a few things that exist in the free version, such as the multiple English translations and in-game multi-language mode (note: you can always play the Japanese version by changing the steam language properties). But those will forever be preserved in the free version available on steam for anyone who prefers that version.
This wasn't part of the original project budget, so I'll be doing this for free to make sure this series gets the presentation it deserves. I don't know how long it will take, but I'll try to get it finished sooner than later!
