Seed is Toledo's first coworking community—welcoming our first members to our Downtown location this Spring.
Coworking arrives in Toledo!
Yes, really. Seed Coworking is hastily finishing the renovation of our historic 1877 space (formerly a wheel barrow factory—oh, the irony!) so we can welcome our first members this Spring. Seed will then become home to designers, developers, independent contractors, innovators and tiny companies. The resulting community will help them share, thrive and inspire.
Seed is more than desks, and chairs and wifi. Thankfully, we have a great development partner whose vision matches our own. The space is being built specifically to promote collaboration, fun, productivity and contagious energy.
But—and this is where you come in—we need to raise some money to furnish our space so our members and guests can enjoy a comfy yet professional work environment.
More on that in a bit.
We love the Kickstarter community! Where else can you find so many people willing to pitch in a few bucks (or more) to help creative endeavors get off the ground? We've supported our fellow cowork fundraisers here and knew it would be the perfect vehicle to promote Seed and present our collection of sweet rewards. Plus, the more people who give, the more people we're accountable to. And we like that.
So, thank you, in advance, oh Kickstarters... for your consideration and generosity. We love you all!
Here's the pitch: we'll be opening soon, and the funds raised on Kickstarter will be used to furnish our space. Your generous donation will not be used to fund our operations. We're working with a local furniture contractor and interior designer to carefully plan our purchase so we can squeeze every penny out of our Kickstarter fundraise. This is your money, and we plan to spend it wisely.
If you donate, be sure to sign up for our e-newsletter on our site. Also, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates and behind-the-scenes awesomeness. We want you to be part of the fun.
A Little About Us.
Seed Coworking Community was founded to harness the creative energy of a revitalized Toledo. There are many exciting things happening in Downtown and the surrounding area, including incredible web & app development and entrepreneurial communities. Seed will be the hub and rallying cry ("Viva la Seed!") of these communities.
We're so close to making coworking in Toledo a reality. With your help, we'll realize that dream and create an environment we can all be proud of. You will have played a vital part in that, and for that we are truly grateful.
Coworking is about a community of like-minded creative professionals who want a different kind of place to work. A place free of cubicles and bureaucracy. A place where you can go and get inspired with fellow members. You can find more information at http://wiki.coworking.info/.
Seed is simply a place where designers, developers and innovators work. It's not about the space. It's about the community. Yes, you have a membership, but the value comes from the members within the space. Renting office space is just about the space.
Sign up for the newsletter here: http://seedcoworking.com. We'll keep you posted on our progress and notify you when we're ready to accept memberships.
The founding members are three independent business owners from NW Ohio: Gene Powell, Jamie Wright and Don Miller. But it's not about us, it's about YOU. All supporting members will have a vote and voice for where Seed goes in the future.
We are opening in the Spring. An exact date will be announced once we get closer to finishing construction on the space. Join the newsletter to get a jump on that announcement.

Yes. We realize that downtown parking can be a deterrent for some, but we have some parking available already and we’re working to make more spaces available.
Absolutely not. The money you contribute will only be used to furnish and equip Seed.
