Seasoning Stix are solid "sticks" of seasonings, spices and herbs, which are inserted into meat, fish and poultry prior to cooking to season from the inside out.

At approximately 110F food science takes over.  Water is driven out, Seasoning Stixs begin to liquify and the meat absorbs the seasonings like a sponge.

It's the first major change in seasonings in 1,000 years.  

So unique it's already been award three U.S. Patents.

Traditionally, there are two popular methods for seasoning meats - applying seasonings to the outside prior cooking and marinading, but neither method is perfect.  Actually, neither works very well at all.

Seasoning Problem One: 

  • Applying seasonings to the outside does not season the inside and it can burn during cooking.  This can create bad tastes.
  • Seasoning on the outside falls off, burns and does not penetrate.

Seasoning Problem Two:

  • Marinates are messy, time consuming and don't really work. 
  • Food scientists call it the Myth of Marinade.  Truth is marinades barely penetrate meat.  
  • Commercial marinates are really unhealthy and full of high fructose corn syrup, sodium and chemicals.   Yuck!

Seasoning Stixs season meat, fish and poultry from the inside out helping you create delicious dishes for yourself, friends and family.

The fact is that meat fibers are mainly water and all that water is simply in the way.  Until some of that water is displaced, nothing is going to season meat properly.  

Seasoning Stixs are solid seasonings and spices, which are inserted into meat prior to cooking.  

At approximately 110F the sticks begin to liquify allowing the meat fibers to absorb all the seasoning goodness as the water is displaced, effectively seasoning and marinading from the inside out.

Making delicious meat, fish and poultry with Seasoning Stixs is really simple:

  • Select you favorite Seasoning Stix blend
  • Insert Stixs into you favorite meat, fish or poultry.  The seasonings travel into the meat up to several inches, so only few Stixs are need for small cuts: insert more for large cuts or for even more flavor.
  • Cook, Grill, Barbecue, Roast as normal

Patents in the culinary world are very rare.  Such intellectual property protection takes a considerable time and expense to obtain, but fortunately it is something our team has already completed - A significant achievement. 

We currently hold three patents on Seasoning Stixs.  These are issued patents; not patents pending, which is super exciting for our growing company.

  • Seasoning Stick and Method and apparatus for Preparing Foods - A solid seasoning product in the form of a stick, rod, thread, band, bead, pellet or ribbon from 20 mils to 250 mils thick and having a geometry as a shaped mass that enables the product to be inserted into or mixed with food comprising meat, poultry, rice, grains or other particulate foods prior to heating to prepare the food.
  • Seasoning Device and Method for Preparing Foods - Invention relates to a seasoning device or product, and more particularly to a method for preparing and seasoning foods, especially meats and poultry.  

This will ensure our efforts and your backer money will be  used to produce a product and to help grow a company that will have a secure future.  

We also believe these patents will be attractive to established seasoning and spice companies that have seen little product innovation in decades.

How does food taste when Seasoning Stixs are used?  A Great Question

The simple answer is that when Seasoning Stixs are used to season meat, fish or poultry from the inside out the flavors are more pronounced and intense.

Simply delicious, in our opinion. Here's the summary of our first set of blind taste tests.

Risks and challenges

We plan a very quick delivery of backer rewards upon completion as we have completed R&D, settled on a manufacturing process, performed two product test runs and have procured the actual manufacturing equipment. Thus, we think the risks are very low.

We want deliver initial backer rewards in time for late Summer BBQs, so we plan to move right into production immediately after the closing the Kickstarter campaign.

Our biggest risk is in our Thai Peanut Satay blend, but we think the risk is manageable.

The Thai Peanut Satay blend is an ambitious undertaking. We plan to convert classic chicken satay dipping sauce ingredients - peanut butter, palm sugar, coconut, and curry - into a solid stick format that can be inserted into chicken prior to cooking. Our testing shows we can pull it off and we have already produced some samples, but there are some challenges yet to overcome to produce in larger quantities. If we can't get it right, we may substitute our almost as equally delicious chicken teriyaki blend.

Our other blends are very stable and we are ready to move into production and delivery to our backers.

Perhaps a minor risk factor is the availability or organic seasonings, which are not always available from reliable sources. If organic product is not available we will either modify the blend or use a non-organic product. In no situation will we source Chinese grown products regardless of certification.

Additionally, we are supported by the efforts of our inventor of Seasoning Stixs and his engineering team who have invented products and technologies that have produced billions of dollars of revenue over many years.

Overall, we feel we are a very capable team and that we will be able to manage any risks or issues that arise.
