Weekly update!

Posted by Sean Pollman (Creator)

Hey everyone!

I just finished uploading the 0.0.18 version of Kinetic Void Shipyard, you can get the PC, and Mac version from our site. The PC patcher will not work with this version due to the changes we made to the database.

Here is the video update I did for this version as well

We are still doing well, but we need to pick things up if we are to make our goal, we have 16 days left!

We are still considering adding more reward tiers, and or adding rewards to the current tiers. If you have an idea of what you would like to see added, or what would entice you to increase your pledge, please feel free to share with us. We want to hear what you have to say.

@Adrian thanks for the feedback! Ive been playing with mass to thrust ratios and they are not anywhere near final, each patch should show a marked improvement as we home in on the proper feel. If the ship feels too twitchy, try less engines, or more of the other modules to balance the Thrust:Mass ratios a bit. the more engines you add the more Forward, vertical, horizontal, roll, and pitch thrust you will have on the ship. These things will be much more apparent when we get the sub-systems exposed and people will be able to directly tweak them to taste.

Shipyard works smoother, and I've finally figured out how to rotate modules, but in flight, the controls are awkward and twitchy. Not at all fun.

Just an idea how about owning space stations or planets for higher awards or if people want to form guilds and own stuff that way. I no its sand box, but putting in a smal bit of object code that on universe creation these space stations and planets are auto created in with the person/ guilds name. How about having regions( like space empires people can buy and then in game if you know the person that areas population treat you better. That way when in the community forums people can issue free access in their pirate /trader empire. Or they can issue warrens that again on game creation make life for certain types of in game people harder and have bounties.
I would be interested in paying more for that type of in game involment.

Hope this might help to rasie more money for a great game.

You could add some ingame perks that kickstarter backers (like crewmembers, modules, ect) could get early access to across all levels. They should attainable ingame still thought. Maybe give the $1 backer level 1 wallpaper so they get something.

Oh jeez I just noticed that was already a reward. Nevermind.

A neat idea for a reward would be offering a 3d printed model of a ship the backer designed. It could be at 150-175, if you have access to a 3d printer that is. Totally stole the idea from Drifter but I just think 3d printers are so neat.

I'd probably pledge more if there was a simply the game + OST option for around 35, without the alpha + credits + forum title. 20 to 50 is a big jump.

Some ideas to add to the reward tiers:
-An Achievement Award in the game named after you (or in honor of someone you name)
-An "Easter Egg" that reveals your personal URL (a link to your blog for example)
-A location in the game universe named for you (or someone you wish to honor)
