This project was successfully funded on June 19, 2012.
As people start getting their devices it's been fantastic so see the reactions and tests people have been doing with them. Above Glenn Langton made a cool video showing a test he did at home. Another backer, Edouard Lafargue made this fantastic Onyx Data Visualizer to help show off some of the data that is being collected by the device. We're seeing submissions to the Safecast Database and those are beginning to show up on our map as well. Keep it up!
Now that the Safecast/Kickstarter/Medcom Onyx is shipping and with the release of the new bGeigie Nano kit, we thought it would be useful to create a community specifically for discussions about those devices. Hardware, software, hacking, protips, support, troubleshooting, etc.. whatever might come up relating specifically to devices that people are using that were designed (at least in part) by Safecast.
That community is here:
As people start getting their hands on these devices and playing with them, that will likely be the best place to look for information about operation and usage.
