Yes! My copy arrived and it looks fantastic. I'll be getting that on the gaming table as soon as possible. I'm so glad to see this game come to life at long last.

Thanks, Sean! It's a winner in my book. When you or John have time, please stop by the BGG forums and weigh in on some of the many rules questions that reside there.

Kirkstarter - guilty as charged.... I have been juggling several things at once so my wires got crossed and I lost track of this task. I am glad you got the game and that you like it! Thanks for the feedback about the insert, that was out of my hands but I will discuss it with the publishers! Those things can be tricky sometimes. I will be sure to post more updates when there is more news about the game or new products, etc. ;) -Sean

Oh need to promote more..or any. Not even an update to let these fans know it is released. I was surprised to see this pop up on a pre-order list on Miniature Market. Would have had no clue otherwise.

Got my copy yesterday. Looks fantastic! I was originally drawn to the game due to the artwork and it does not disappoint. Not onlyl is the game better looking but the layout and design is much better (looking at the old town tiles hurts my eyes!). I look forward to playing my first game tomorrow.

One change that would have been appreciated would have been ditching the plastic insert - it doesn't work - and printing the tiles on cardboard instead of flimsy card stock. They just feel so cheap when laying them out on the table. Otherwise...great! So glad this finally happened. Thanks for not giving up on it.

    5. Stephen Baird on March 2, 2017

Sounds good! Thanks for the quick reply, too. I really look forward to being able to try the game, I've been pining for it for almost two years now but I still haven't forgotten it.

    6. SeanAndrewMurray 3-time creator on March 2, 2017

Stephen - thank you for the comment - we are still finishing up the last minute details of the game with CMON, things got pushed back a bit - BUT, we are on track for a Summer release. By San Diego Comic-Con or Gencon at the latest. I will post more updates soon! Once we are finished with the game I will begin promoting it and getting to word out.

    7. Stephen Baird on March 2, 2017

I know this project has been cancelled for quite a while, so it's entirely possible no one will ever look back at this, but does anyone know more about the CMoN publishing and when to expect a release?

I'm still super excited for this game, and the CMoN press release said they were aiming for a Q1 2017 release, so if that's still accurate I would have expected more PR hype... but maybe not? Is that still the target? Is the publishing deal still on?

      WOW CMON Publishing GATEWAY: UPRISING!!!!

Can't wait. Was so sad whenthis was canceled. Can't wait for this game. Congrats on getting CMON to publish!!

Check out the latest update for the BIG NEWS!!! Gateway: Uprising is being PUBLISHED! Look for a release date somewhere in Q1 2017!

    10. Mark on August 8, 2016

Any word about this? Is this relaunching?

    11. SeanAndrewMurray 3-time creator on September 16, 2015

Clocksmith Games - Thanks for the question! Yes, we are definitely going to relaunch this game, we just do not have a solid date for you yet. When we have exciting news to announce, we will definitely post it here! Cheers! -The Fishwizard Team

    12. Clocksmith Games on August 19, 2015

Hi guys, are you planning on taking a second run at this? I really want this game on my shelf :)

    13. RichardF on May 5, 2015

Dang :( Sorry to see it end so soon. Hopefully it will come back stronger than ever next time. I've backed games before that failed on their first attempt and then came back like gangbusters and crushed the goal. You'll be fine. See you on the flip side!

    14. Travis 'T3' Keating on May 5, 2015

Is there anyway for you guys to get this on for some advertising? Maybe if you guys had some stretch goals clearly laid out it could help get the ball rolling!

    15. RichardF on May 4, 2015

I really hope we get a gameplay video soon. I've talked it up as best I can, and I'm even trying to convince the owner of my FLGS to get the retailer pledge, but it's slow going. Maybe a video or a review would help bump the wagon into motion?

    16. Nate Lee on May 4, 2015

Some social stretch goals might be in order, to help spread the word.

    17. Benjamin (the goblin lord) Bailey on May 3, 2015

@ David, spread the word! I want to see this one make it too!

    18. David Weirum Jensen on May 2, 2015

Oh man, this project is all out of steam :( I really hope those reviews and gameplay videos will turn it around.

    19. Benjamin (the goblin lord) Bailey on May 2, 2015

Also will the mat fit in the box?

    20. Benjamin (the goblin lord) Bailey on May 2, 2015

I can see (ever so slightly) the playmats in the background of the pics for the rewards teirs. Is there any chance of posting a pic of the playmats seperatly. I love the art for this game, however; I don't know if I like the look of the mats just yet. And I kind of wanted to know what I was pledging for. Or let us vote on a design or layout.

    21. Benjamin (the goblin lord) Bailey on May 1, 2015

I have to say I'm getting this just for the art work completely. The fact its a game too is bonus. I have to say this is the absolute best art for a game ever.

Cris R and Stephen - We are sending out copies of the prototype to reviewers as we speak! Thanks!

Jacob - We will be using Panda.

      Owen - Thank you!

David Jensen - we will look into making it EU-Friendly, thank you!

Nick - We will look into the idea of posters - likely we would have some made up for conventions like GenCon, Essen, etc.

Adrain - 4 players is something we are exploring, we will let you know what we come up with. With the added board game elements, we have to make sure the gameplay is properly balanced, and right no we feel it plays best with 2 or 3 players, but we also recognize that many would like to see us expand that to 4.

Vinakro - we are definitely considering advertising on some 3rd party sites - and we are sending folks like Undead Viking copies of the prototype right now! :)

RichardF - Thank you so much! So glad you remembered! We will post updates about the playmat in the near future. Stay tuned!

    23. RichardF on April 29, 2015

My sons and I got to meet Sean Andrew Murray ta GenCon last year. We bought some prints and he mentioned that a game was being tinkered with. Glad to see it come to light. My son told me this was up and I jumped right in.

Question: Is the playmat functional, or just aesthetic? I didn't see any areas for placing cards and such. Is it just a nice surface to play on?

    24. Vinakro on April 29, 2015

Can I suggest also advertising on 3rd party sites? If the game is more or less done, I'd suggest some 3rd party reviews. I believe Rahdo/Undead Vikings aren't paid reviews and can help bring in a lot of new interest.

I am excited to see a game play video and hopefully a 4 player version. You guys also might want to consider changing the KS main image. I have seen some games that have been really help back by a too complicated image and was a lot more successful when they simplified the image. A good example would be Norsaga that just completed. They struggled for quite a while with the complicated main image and funding seemed to jump a lot after they simplified it.

    26. Owen Ross on April 29, 2015

This game looks so much fun! I've been following your illustration work since you did a demo for my class at Syracuse University. I love the concepts you did with Big Huge Games, and am excited to get my hands on some physical copies of your artwork. You have my support!

    27. David Weirum Jensen on April 28, 2015

Can't wait to watch the gameplay video :)

      on April 27, 2015

I'm so excited for this game! The artwork is fantastic - Do you have any plans to sell posters/large-sized prints of any of the game's artwork?

    29. David Weirum Jensen on April 27, 2015

Will this project ship to EU-backers, from within the EU, and make it EU-friendly? If not already, is this something you consider looking into?

Building off of Stephen's comment, Nick at Board Game Brawl might be interested in taking a look at it since he's a fan of coop/semi-coop deck builders. Worth a shot asking him to review the game.

    32. Stephen Baird on April 26, 2015

I love the look of the game, and the gameplay (from what has been described so far) seems like an interesting variation on the usual deck builder formula.

Do you guys have a page set up for the game yet on Boardgame Geek? I think that could help drive more interest, especially with some extra photos of the (gorgeous!) game, and maybe some gameplay video or the rules. Double bonus if you get some third party reviews.

You've got something good here, I'd love to see it go far.

    33. SeanAndrewMurray 3-time creator on April 26, 2015

Francesco - the large format playmat is 24 inches by 28 inches. Thanks! We are happy to have you on board!

      ZZZ - Thank you! :)

    34. ZZZ on April 26, 2015

      I looooove the art!

If the game was just "draw a card and look at it" I'd still play it! ;)

Still, I do hope the gameplay is as good and also that one of the stretch goal is: 4th player.

      Good luck!

P.s. If I ever get one of my projects done properly, I'll definitely contact you if you still accept jobs as a freelance!

Wow, it seems very original!I like this feelings, competitive and coop!Great! One suggestion, say it on the mail page!

    37. SeanAndrewMurray 3-time creator on April 26, 2015

Francesco - It's not a stupid question. :) For the most part it's a competitive game, however, there are times when the players will need to work together - such as if the Drueggar are about to take the entire city. If that happens, the game ends and no one wins, so players will need to put aside their differences long enough to fight against a common enemy, and then once that's taken care of, go back to fighting against each other.

    38. Missing avatar

Francesco Novara on April 26, 2015

Sorry for the stupid question, but, is it a cooperative game or a one vs one?

    39. SeanAndrewMurray 3-time creator on April 26, 2015

First Gameplay Update is now up for the browsing - today we look more at Districts and their unique abilities, and the different choices they give the player on his turn. Up next will be combat. :)

    40. SeanAndrewMurray 3-time creator on April 26, 2015

Walt - we've got multiple gameplay reveals coming over the course of this week, so that should answer all your questions the mechanics and how the game works. As for delivery, our printer has an estimated turn around time of 5 - 8 months, a non-negligable chunk of which is shipping and port/customs time. The game has been extensively playtested, which is what we've been focusing on - making sure it;s fun. :) The extra bit of time needed is to finalize the art and make sure it's all up to our high standards. So the May delivery date is the far end of the possible delivery schedule - it could be sooner.

    41. Walt Williams on April 26, 2015

I'm a backer for now, but I can't guarantee I'll remain one. I definitely need to see a gameplay video explaining the mechanics. I'm also curious why the estimated arrival date is so long away - much longer than other projects l've supported in the past. Has there been any production work? Any playtesting? You've piqued my interest but I would like some more info. Thanks for considering my questions.

    42. Timothy C. Cassidy Jr. on April 25, 2015

Just wanted to say I love your artwork!!!

    43. SeanAndrewMurray 3-time creator on April 25, 2015

Salvador - thank you! We've got a big gameplay update coming soon which will provide more information about the individual cards and mechanics of the game. One of the stretch goal ideas we had was for a plastic molded box insert to sort all the cards - we'll keep in mind the extra dimensions of card sleeves so that those will fit too. Good call. :)

    44. Salvador Bernadó Sala
      on April 25, 2015

The art is awesome and the game looks interesting enough.
Looking forward to see more information about the rules.
I hope that if the project gets funded the box has inserts to hold sleeved cards.

      on April 25, 2015

      so what's the player count?

    46. SeanAndrewMurray 3-time creator on April 25, 2015

Joe - yes, it is basically an art-book, but it also contains the stories of individual characters that are part of the wizard underground during the Inquisition that the game is also centered around. Here's a review of the book if you want to learn more about it:

    47. SeanAndrewMurray 3-time creator on April 25, 2015

Yes! We will post more info about the gameplay, we definitely want folks to see that this is more than your ordinary deck-building game! The board-game pieces (districts) and randomizer cards add a fun and unique dynamic to the gameplay. More soon! And thanks for all the feedback so far!

    48. Joe Brown
      on April 24, 2015

+1 for more game info. I've pledged Insurrectionist but I would really like to see more, videos, rules. Also what is the book of wizards? An art book?, some kind of RPG companion book? While the art looks great I'm not the kind of person that buys art books so I'll probably just go for the game mat option.

    49. Anthony Richards
      on April 24, 2015

Definitely a plus in persuading people it is a game worth the cost would be to have a game play video. Also some additional information on number of players and time play would also benefit in catching peoples interest. The more information, the better to help in making the decision to invest.

I agree with Eric or even better a game play video
