"Dead Billy" screening time at Paragon Film Festival, watch "Manhattan" tomorrow...and more updates!!

All righty folks!

For those of you in LA or who are interested in heading out to the City of Angels, Dead Billy will have its West Coast premiere at the Zephyr Theatre (7456 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036) at 2pm on Saturday, October 24th.

Tickets are available under "Fan Ticket" here:

Several of us from team Dead Billy will most definitely be there, and we hope you will too!

Secondly, Dead Billy's very own Lauren Myers is coming back for a second season of Manhattan, which airs starting tomorrow night (October 13th) on WGN!! (click here for a channel finder) You'll be able to see Lauren back as Jeannie the WAC in several episodes, and in case you needed any more motivation, here's a squinty photo of her and tv beau Fritz (Michael Chernus) from set:

Next, writer/director/executive producer Scotty Milder has recently partnered with an established television producer for his new TV pilot, and they will be taking the script out to market before the end of the year.

Our incredible cinematographer/executive producer Corey Weintraub has been working on a project called "t@gged" with local New Mexican Hannah Macpherson, along with several amazing crew friends from Dead Billy. We're assuming with all of that equipment, he's having *no fun* whatsoever ;)

And lastly, but definitely not least, Executive Producer Dominic Garcia is working on some pretty big projects out in LA...which we can't talk about yet...but we promise to dish out the news soon :)

Also--BIG NEWS--DVD's and digital downloads will be available as rewards VERY VERY SOON.

And as usual, thank you for your support!!

Best, Team Dead Billy

"Dead Billy" is an official selection of the Paragon Film Festival in Los Angeles!

Hello Everyone!

While we know it seems like there's been radio silence for the past few months,  all of us on Team Dead Billy have been working hard to get our (and YOUR!) movie out into the world. There will be some more updates soon regarding distribution, but in the meantime, we have an exciting announcement:

Dead Billy is an official selection for the inaugural Paragon Film Festival in Los Angeles! We are excited to not only help get this festival off the ground, but screen it in a city that will be the perfect location for a west coast premiere. We know so many of our supporters are based in LA and we're happy that we finally have the chance to share the movie with you!

We will be sending more details soon, but we can tell you that the festival takes place October 23-25 at the Zephyr Theatre in West Hollywood, and that Dead Billy screens on the last day of the festival. Stay tuned for details on tickets and a screening time.

Once again, thank you for your unending and incredible support. WE'RE BRINGING DEAD BILLY TO THE CITY OF ANGELS, BABY!

Much thanks,

Scotty, Lauren, Corey, Dominic, and all of Team Dead Billy

FREE screening of Dead Billy in ABQ, plus reward updates and more!

Hello wonderful backers!

It's been a while since we last updated you, so we wanted to let you know what's been going on in Dead Billy land.

First of all, as we embark the next leg our movie journey, we're making lots of discoveries. We're realizing that fundraising, shooting, and editing your film is barely half the journey. We're making connections with distributors, sending the film off to festivals, and continuing to navigate the waters of "How Do We Get Our Film OUT Into The World?" It's been a wonderful and slightly exhaustive learning experience, but we're grateful for every nugget of information and experience that we gain along that way. Also, it's EXCITING TOO!

And so this means that there's still a ways to go--in a great way! We're incredibly grateful for the help of some amazing colleagues in New Mexico, including Ivan Wiener with the Albuquerque Film & Music Experience and Ann Lerner with the Albuquerque Film Office. Both organizations are partnering with us to present a FREE screening of Dead Billy at the South Broadway Cultural Center in Albuquerque on Sunday, March 29th at 6pm. We hope everyone nearby can join us for this event!!

Secondly, a few of you have contacted us regarding your rewards. We apologize for any confusion from Kickstarter and are aware that those who donated $40 or more have not received your full reward because we have yet to send out any DVD's--so at the current moment, if you donated $40+, please ignore the messages from Kickstarter if they say your rewards are fulfilled. Due to the nature of film distribution, we will not be able to send out the DVDs until a distribution deal is secure, whether through a third party or self distribution. We will keep you updated on these events and apologize for the delay.

And lastly, our creative team is expanding their skills as we continue to work in film, television, and theatre. Our producers, designers, actors, and crew are still working hard in the industry both here in New Mexico and across the country.  It's strengthening our tools, building relationships, and advancing our creative minds. Keep your eyes peeled for both big budget and independent work coming out of New Mexico--you might recognize a few names and faces!

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns--if you don't want to go through Kickstarter, you can always email us at

And stay tuned! In the next couple of days we'll be releasing our latest poster design, as well as reminders on our March 29th screening. Thank you again for your amazing support, and we'll be in touch!

Lauren, Scotty, Dom, Corey, and the Dead Billy Team :)

Announcing the "Dead Billy" WORLD PREMIERE at AFME!

Hello Wonderful "Dead Billy" supporters!

We are pleased to announce that, almost two years since all of you helped make our dream a reality, Dead Billy is finally getting its WORLD PREMIERE!

As an official selection of the Albuquerque Film & Media Experience, Dead Billy will premiere on Thursday, June 5th, at 9:00 pm at the KiMo Theatre in Downtown Albuquerque.

There are many ways to help with the screening, the most important of which is to SPREAD THE WORD! Invite your friends on Facebook (here's our FB event HERE), send emails, share on twitter, yell it from the mountain!! (We've already tried a couple of times from Sandia was windy).  We sincerely hope that each and every one of you can attend, because we are proud, honored, and humbled to share the work that you helped create.

Tickets for the event can be purchased HERE!

The feedback we have received thus far on the film has been beyond terrific.  Here's our favorite response as of late:

"Dead Billy is the must see feature at the Albuquerque Film & Media Experience. The picture is absolutely insane. Very few films are as gutsy and confident as this debut feature film directed by Scott Milder and shot by Corey Weintraub. This is a psychological fever dream with sweat practically dripping off the screen. The images pop out at you, literally crawling into your skin. You will be gasping for air afterwards, trying to make sense of what you just experienced. You’re going to want to take a shower after this one, and I mean that in the best way possible." --Matt Stanasolovich, AFME Film Critic

And lastly, as always, thank you for your support.  We know we say this in every single update, but we plan on saying it for a very long time.  We couldn't have done it without you.
