Welcome to the Bicycle Monster Montage Playing Cards Kickstarter project!
About Bicycle Monster Montage Playing Cards
Bicycle Monster Montage Playing Cards have been 100% custom drawn and designed by artist Carlos Bercini during the Fall/Winter of 2013. The theme is inspired by classic monster and horror films from the first half of the 20th century. Instead of focusing on specific monsters from specific films, each monster and horror figure has been completely re-interpreted and re-imagined in order to capture the many films that have been released over the years featuring these timeless monsters.
The deck pays homage to the great monster classics that we all grew up with as children and as adults. From Frankenstein to Dracula to the unforgettable scream queen, Bicycle Monster Montage has a little bit of everything from a genre that has its roots deep in film history. Often times these monster films were bootstrapped and had little to no budgets, much like a start up project like this playing card deck and the many others that have paved the way.
Backers are needed to help fund print/card production (min. print runs are required to print with The United States Playing Card Company), art costs and shipping/logistics. With your help, Bicycle Monster Montage Playing Cards can become a reality.

How this came together? by Carlos Bercini, Bicycle Monster Montage Artist
Illustration has always been that passion that has accompanied me. That something that has always been in the back of your head and even when you are busy pretending to “grow up” or putting it aside while you are busy discovering new things, it is always there waiting for you like a long lost forgotten toy in the attic. It just waits there for you to come back and pick it up.
As a kid I was always on the hunt for all kinds of movie posters, music album covers, comic books, VHS or beta movie art, old horror posters, cards, toys, video game illustrations and everything that just looked strange, fantastic and a bit weird! So becoming a graphic designer/illustrator was a natural step to take on my journey - one more step on that never-ending road to find one self’s voice, hoping that one day I would too help create/shape those strange, fantastic and weird things….So today, I find myself here working on that.
When Scott first got in contact with me to tell me about his idea and vision for this deck, I immediately knew that I had to collaborate on this. It´s not everyday that you get to take part in such a fantastic and creative endeavor involving classic monsters and poker. So my answer was a definite yes!
A few months later and here we are, still working hard to finish this deck, Scott´s mind running like a very well oiled machine always creating new ideas and concepts for each card, while I find myself trying to capture those ideas behind the pencil that is being fueled by his vivid imagination. So today Scott Carey and I bring to you a first glimpse at his vision, Monster Montage!

Risks and challenges
With any project there are risks to consider including but not limited to fulfillment, legalities and overall competency of me, the project creator. As this is my first project on Kickstarter I am sure you have concerns. However, I have 5 years experience in e-commerce and countless hours studying playing cards and Kickstarter projects. I have also been in contact and started a relationship and dialogue with The United States Playing Card Company and the distribution center that we plan to use for fulfillment. My e-commerce background has given me an edge in that I had foresight to scope out fees, logistics, product storage and contingency plans in the case any issue may arise. In other words, I have done my due diligence for this project and have researched and estimated how much this will cost and have structured the goals and rewards accordingly. I promise to let no reward go undelivered.
Communication and transparency are my #1 goals throughout the entire length of the project. Feel free to message me at any time if you ever have a concern.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
