"Scopia” is feature length horror/sci-fi film for grown-ups. Think Donnie Darko meets The Butterfly Effect, meets The Shining, meets something you’ve never seen before. We have set out to bring a intelligent and classically inspired chiller to the screen that will assault the senses as we witness reincarnation.
WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
Set in London, “Scopia” follows ordinary white-collar office worker, Basia (played by Polish actress, Joanna Ignaczewska), who after suffering mild depression undergoes hypnotic regression with specialist Dr Edward Stanton. No sooner do these treatments start (somewhat unorthodox in nature) that Basia’s flashbacks caused during regression appear to be not only of a troubled childhood but also of troubled past lives.
As these “memories” gush forth, the vivid and warm memories of her young mother’s kindness subside and start to give way to dark forces that seek to disrupt and destroy her. As Basia struggles to hold these dark forces from breaking through into her present, she increasingly struggles to retain her sanity and the ability to fight back. There is a way out but it is hardest path to take, shaking her humanity to the very core.
ITS TIME TO MAKE SOME SERIOUSLY COOL CINEMA!
TIME TO PLEDGE (AND HERE'S HOW)
Risks and challenges
The good news is that Scopia’s principle photography is 95% completed with only 4 shoot days left.
We still have several months of expensive post-production left to complete, including editing, scoring, original song writing, foley, sound mixing, special effects and final mastering.
The hardest challenge of ‘starting’ the project is over and now we are in the final, but no less challenging phase of completing it.
o bring the best to the screen for a film such as Scopia (a celebral and high concept film experience) we need the best people working on it.
That’s why we have started partnering with an experienced film editor with in-house access to a full suite of editing tools, an experienced music composer, well known musicians and the intention once funded to hire a post-production supervisor to ensure that all facets of the post-production process through to delivery is tightly managed and delivered according to budget.
After 2 years of working with largely the same production crew (AKA the Scopia family), we know what common issues await us as a team as we have grown together. The project is now so close to completion that once funded, we are now almost guaranteed to be completed and out of post by June 2013.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
