2 days to go!

2 days to go. 96% funded.

I am sitting in Alumni Hall on the Wilkes Community College campus during Merlefest. In the Commons area, Pete Wernick aka Dr. Banjo is hosting a workshop. Seems like the most fitting place to be at the end of these 60 days.

On my way into town yesterday, I stopped in Boone to see the statue of Doc Watson on his bench. It may seem odd, but I've wanted to see that statue for some time now as Doc Watson tells us about his early days growing up in Boone, NC and about playing on this specific bench in the interview we did with him. There are so many moments I am looking forward to sharing with you in coming months.

I also managed to find a place for myself in the Creekside Camping on-site here last night. About midnight, I built my Dad's huge 4 man tent and it reminded me of the many times I camped out with tons of camera gear to film all the festivals in this film from the foothills of VA at The Infamous Stringdusters' Festy to the 9000ft. elevation of Telluride. Its been a long journey the past few years and I can only hope that we reach 100% funded soon so I can relax in my creekside tent here at Merlefest.

Final push. Let's do this.
