Over the Airwaves

Comin' at ya! Live from 2010....The Porchlight Sessions crew filmed with The Infamous Stringdusters at Charlottesville's 106.1 The Corner radio station to promote their first annual The Festy festival at the concert grounds at Devil's Backbone Brewery.

Here is the sneak preview content of The Infamous Stringdusters to honor Chris Pandolfi's birthday!

A little back story - in the early days of Bluegrass and country music, acts would perform on the radio in the mornings prior to shows at night as a way to let the town know they were there. Oftentimes bands would perform at schoolhouses, churches and even travel with tent shows, where acts like Monroe Brothers (Bill and Charlie) would host baseball games and boxing matches with the locals before shows. Here is a photo of a tent show put on by WSM Grand Ole Opry in Mobile, AL.
