About this project
SBrick Plus is a brick that you can place into your LEGO® models so you can control them remotely using a smart device like a phone, tablet, gamepad or even Chromebook or PC. That’s just the tip of the iceberg though; SBrick Plus can use sensors from the WeDo 1.0™ family can be programmed in several languages, so it’s a perfect way to start your journey into programming and robotics!
SBrick Plus can also work with NXT/EV3 sensors using our adapter!
Even though the Technic™ family and Education™ products are both LEGO®, there has been no overlap between the two until now. SBrick Plus removes this barrier between the two families and brings those worlds together seamlessly..
SBrick Plus is the first product to work with Apple’s educational language, Swift Playgrounds. Everyone can code with SBrick Plus.
Apple, Google and Microsoft are some of the biggest tech companies in the world. LEGO® is the biggest toy company in the world SBrick Plus connects them. You can now program with Apple and Google and Microsoft and play with LEGO®, all thanks to the SBrick Plus.
You can also use the building blocks you already have at home or in the classroom, simply add an SBrick Plus and let your adventure begin!
SBrick Plus is simple to use at home. We have created lesson plans and activities that will allow you to learn with your child, giving them a leg-up when it comes to programming and robotics. Even if you’ve never programmed before, we have produced a clear Guide for Parents that will lead you through everything as you experience the fun and satisfaction of learning with your child.
For example, if you have the Fireplane (model 42040) at home then you can build lots of different models using the same parts. We have designed 12 models using this Fireplane, including a robot that can draw, a helicopter and even a band that makes music. These building instructions will be available in the SBrick Education Library.

The SBrick Education Library contains building instructions as well as lessons built up of activities you can do together with your child.
Here's a sample page from our "Breezy the Hummingbird" lesson; this teaches coding in an immersive way and mixes programming fundamentals with interesting general knowledge.
Here is one of the activities we have put together, effectively a puzzle that needs to be solved. Your aim is to write code that will enable a robot to find its way out of a maze.

SBrick Plus is powerful enough to be used in the classroom by educators teaching programming and robotics. We spoke to hundreds of teachers as we developed SBrick Plus and worked with award-winning educators to produce something ideally suited for education. SBrick Plus is incredibly versatile - our brick is compatible with several of the most important languages - and it also works flawlessly with WeDo™ 1.0 sensors, meaning those kits lying around gathering dust will be useless no more!
The SBrick Education Library contains lessons that teach programming fundamentals in an immersive way. These lessons have been approved by Professors at Cambridge University - this sets us apart from everything else on the market.

Whether you get an SBrick Plus or SBrick, you get free tools that really complement the things you want to do.
There’s our SBrick app, which you can download from the either the App Store, Google Play or the Windows Store. Our app runs on phones and tablets, and can control both SBrick Plus, SBrick, as well as any combination of the two.
Then there’s our online Profile Designer service, through which you can design custom user interfaces to suit your mood and model. It’s simple to use, just drag-and-drop, no coding is required!
We provide free to use plugins so you can use SBrick Plus with Macbooks, Chromebooks, Windows 10 notebooks, tablets and PC.
We also have a vibrant social platform - social.sbrick.com - where you can meet other SBrick Plus and SBrick users, learn about the things you can do with our bricks, and share tips and tricks from getting the best out of your hardware.
We are lucky enough to call some of the world’s best-known LEGO® master builders our friends. They were the first to get their hands on the SBrick Plus and have created some amazing things. Take a look at the videos below and get inspired!
Fantastic automated propeller plane by BuildingQuality. This creation contains both an SBrick Plus and an SBrick, as well as both tilt and proximity sensors. The proximity sensor determines where the plane is; if it’s close to the ground the landing gear are lowered, if it’s not on the ground the landing gear are raised. The tilt sensor determines the position of the flaps on each wing, as well as the elevator tabs on the tail of the aircraft.
Delightful fully automated bumper car, created by Fernando. The model contains a tilt sensor so when the car hits a wall it changes direction, while at the same time turning right or left randomly.
Incredible automatic system that unloads a freight train, created by Sariel. This creation senses the train has arrived, locks it in place and then turns it upside down.
And this is a digger created by Wieger Offereins; he has set it up so he can control his creation wirelessly, with a gamepad!
There's nothing we love more than working with talented and creative people. It can be fun, exciting, and sometimes even profitable as well. If you are a keen LEGO builder and have used either SBrick Plus or SBrick (or both) to produce something great, then we want to work with you. Simply upload your building instructions, photographs and any other material to the SBrick Education Library; your design will end up in front of thousands of people - and if it's exciting, you can expect people to pay to download your instructions.

How this campaign will work?
- This is the most important part - back us with a pledge! first find a pledge that suits you. If you want to, add extra options - which you'll find below the table of pledges - then raise your pledge amount by the relevant figure. You can increase your pledge at any time during the length of the campaign.
- We'll keep you updated; we know how important it is to be kept in the loop. If our campaign is successful we can move to production by buying the parts we need. We will be updating our progress at least once a week, just so you can know where we stand and what is happening.
- Shipping; once things are ready to be shipped we'll send you a link to a form you need to fill out. At the least this will mean providing a shipping address for you. But in case you've selected an extra option (like the colour of the SBrick Plus housing/case), we'll ask you to tell us what you would like. We'll be shipping things using FedEx so once they're shipping you'll also receive a tracking number from us via email.
We recently celebrated our 2 year anniversary and the last 800 days have been hectic. We first produced SBrick which we launched on Kickstarter. The LEGO® community welcomed us and we’re confident that the SBrick Plus is going to do even greater things over the coming months and years.
With our first Kickstarter campaign we delivered on schedule, and all backers can expect us to do the same with SBrick Plus, so pledge with confidence and be one of the first to receive an SBrick Plus.
Who we are?
Vengit was established by experienced systems engineers and previous employees of Fortune 500 companies who helped develop and operate large volume websites (Alexa Top 500) before founding the company. We specialize in offering cloud solutions and helping companies scale smoothly. We count some of the world’s largest companies as our clients. SBrick and SBrick Plus are products we developed entirely in-house. Two of the best known “startup” companies we helped grow are Prezi and Ustream.
We developed a cross-platform application engine for iOS and Android which has low latency and an easily customizable UI. This means by working with us you can significantly reduce your development costs and time.
Our IOT solution is extremely adaptable. If you have other things you would like to use please then get in touch with us. We can provide a full-coverage solution, from creating a custom user interface that communicates with our SBrick Plus technology with almost any device.

Risks and challenges
Actually there is no known risk. We learned a lot (no seriously, a LOT) about how to take an idea and turn it into a product with the SBrick in 2014. We continued to develop the SBrick after our first successful Kickstarter campaign and have worked hard to ensure that we create the best products we possibly can. We’ve received help and support from fans and have taken their feedback on board so we feel very confident that we will be able to deliver SBrick Plus on time and on schedule, just as we did with SBrick.
There are lots and we like them!
One of our greatest challenges is to ensure that our product matches the high standards set by LEGO Group. With your support we hope to gain certification for the SBrick Plus as we know the LEGO Group is open to innovation. We believe that our product would be a great fit for them.
Another challenge is education;we always had education as a goal when we started out on this journey, and over the last year have strived to work with exceptional teachers to create a mini ecosystem around the SBrick Plus, one stocked with exciting and immersive lessons that make learning (and teaching) fun. We have spent a lot of time fine-tuning our lessons and getting Cambridge University academics to not only look at them but endorse us is a huge feather in our cap.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
We have plans to do this in the near future - please see the Project Timeline in our campaign text. When available, we will be selling these adapters.
At the moment, WeDo 1.0 kits are far more widespread than the WeDo 2.0. The 1.0 kit can also be connected to more types of motor - especially if you want to use Power Functions. Also, as much of the inspiration for the SBrick Plus came from teachers who specifically told us that they already had WeDo 1.0s in their classroom and wanted to make better use of their existing equipment, we decided to first concentrate our efforts on WeDo 1.0. We hope LEGO will shell converter cable between the old and the new PF connectors.
We would like to support WeDo 2.0, and the technology in the SBrick Plus is more than capable of doing so. But the problem here lies with LEGO®; in producing the WeDo 2.0, they changed the connectors and copyrighted the shape of the connector used, making it impossible for us (or others) to connect to the WeDo 2.0. We will make contact with them to ask for permission to use this new connector shape.
