Light-weight, flexible, durable fabric ensure that you never carry extra bulk but that you still hold what you need.
Magnets allow for effortless closure and easy access to pockets. They don’t wear out, attract lint or hook on diapers. Not only that, but they support the sleek design of the bag and hold it all together while it's unzipped.
Surfaces that touch your baby, surfaces that touch the ground, and the exterior surfaces are separate from each other, protecting your baby from germs and your bag looking clean. All surfaces are wipeable and hand washable. The sewn-in magnets ensure that it folds up neatly.
PLUS. You will most likely be able to fit PEKE•BUO into a bag you already love and own. It is more functional than any other diaper bag out there.
Colors will be determined by 1st 2nd and 3rd picks from the survey sent to backers at the end of the campaign.
Here is the video we submitted to the U 0f U Opportunity Quest Competition where we placed 3rd and received 2k to help move our project forward. It features one of the very first bags Sariah Tate created at home...not to mention her family, enjoy. Video credit goes to: Story it up
Lots of people ask Sariah Tate how she came up with the PEKE•BUO diaper bag, find out in this video! See all her original prototypes! ALSO. Why she believes in small diaper bags and how she makes them work in her life.
Most people pronounce the name of the product ‘peek-a-boo’ when they first read it, which is fitting for the bag. Since the product is intended for the care of babies, a name that sounds like the popular infant surprise game works perfectly. The surprise elements and flaps and openings of the bag fit the idea of ‘peek-a-boo’.
Sariah Tate, creator of the bag and brand, is a native Spanish speaker and has inserted some fun hidden meanings.
Peke is a phonetic way to represent the Spanish word ‘peque’, meaning small and also used to refer to small children. The product is both intended for small children and also one of the key features of the bag is that it is very compact.
Buo is the phonic way to represent the spanish word, ‘buho’, meaning owl. Owls are iconic for wisdom or intelligence which ties in with the 'smart diaper bag' concept. The product unfolds to mimic the shape of an owl.
Go beyond the bag and team up with us on our unstoppable mission to help parents everywhere. The PEKE•BUO bag delivers a smarter, simpler, more efficient way to live that allows for more joy in the parenting experience. Our long term goal is to be able to supplement that lifestyle with additional resources that will inspire parents in their role as primary influencers for the next generation. Then give them the tools they need to succeed in that role. Empower parents, change the world.

Risks and challenges
We have have come so far with so little. Sariah embarked on this endeavor with only an idea. She then partnered with brother-in-law Emrys and with less than $2,000, we are so close to making it a reality. The only thing left is your support.
At the launch of Project Peke•buo we have 5 potential manufacturers, and only need to choose the best fit. Then we have located the maker of our fabric, so it is simply a matter of establishing them as a supplier.
All new ventures face similar risks. Peke•buo is no exception. Our biggest challenge is securing a reliable source for the fabric and colors we wish to use. We have secured only a limited supply for now so there is a small risk that it will be not the exact fabric and colors you see here. Be assured that we are in contact with the fabric producer and need only solidify that relationship. However, if worse comes to worst, we will use a similar fabric with the same features and quality and comparable colors.
With any venture, the idea could be a billion-dollar idea, but it is the team that brings the idea to life. Thus, it is more important to consider the team when deciding which project to fund. Basically, if you believe in us, then you can be sure we will deliver on our promises. So allow me to introduce to you our Peke•buo team.
Sariah Tate is a designer with the Midas-touch. She conceived the idea for Peke•buo and had the gusto to bring it into the prototyping stage where she continues to make the product better and better. As a mother, she comes from a place of experience and cares genuinely about the product and those who will use it.
Emrys Tate is our operations guru. He recently graduated with degrees in Operations Management and Entrepreneurship. This is not his first start up, but perhaps will be his most successful. He also speaks Chinese and German, which opens doors for us. He has a strong background in procurement and logistics so he is just the guy to solve our sourcing needs.
This brother and sister-in-law duo make the perfect team because each fills in the other’s weaknesses and both are passionate about improving the lives of those in need. Day in and day out they brainstorm and implement ways Peke•buo can make an impact for those in need and make parenting easier and more joyful.
