About this project
Dysfunction Kills via Suicide, Homicide, and Self Destruction. Authoring books impacting Recognition, Prevention, and Intervention
The Three Headed Monster: Childhood Trauma and Abuse, Addictions and Mental Illness, are the dangerous triad behind misery, dysfunction, and generational patterns that both trap, damage, and destroy individuals and families. Dysfunction costs society billions of dollars annually in America alone, and it costs families the irreplaceable lives of loved ones.
Sara Niles: On a Mission
I write to make a difference; therefore my writing is mission oriented and imbued with a deeper purpose because of my traumatic life experiences. I write primarily nonfiction that exemplifies man's inhumanity to man, focusing of the triumphant human spirit within us all.
I am asking for your donation to help me complete the creation, launching, and expansion of The Wings series.
Four Part fictional Series that comprises single book when completed: On the Wings of Moonlight.
The complete covers are prepared; both digital and print
The first installment has been completed, three are awaiting completion and promotion.
- Black Bird: Chenoas' On the Wings of Moonlight
- Red Bird Fly Away
- Blue Bird, Blue
- White Dove: The Dream
Each series develops the story: Black Bird sets the motifs and themes, the plot and characters, and ends at a pivotal suspense point. Each color is symbolic of both challenge and conquest. Red Bird is symbolic of the rage issues of the narrator; Blue, of loss and despair; and White Dove brings the story full circle, in On the Wings of Moonlight.
On the Wings of Moonlight uses the artistic literary creativity and entertainment value of literary fiction to raise public awareness to the danger of dysfunction, and the power of one to stop it, one individual at a time.

Expansion and Exposure
will expand my audience by presenting a series of four books that make up On the Wings of Moonlight: Black Bird: Chenoa's On the Wings of Moonlight, Red Bird Fly Away, Blue Bird, Blue, White Dove: The Dream; together they complete a work of fiction that was my daughter, Chenoa's life mission. Chenoa was killed by dysfunction; she committed suicide in 2013, after having begun On the Wings of Moonlight. The work was to be her breakout work, as she was a gifted writer. Chenoa attended Princeton University on the merits of her writing in 1999, when she was 19 years old. The cathartic work of fiction is based upon Chenoa's personal experience with The Three Headed Monster of Dysfunction, using a fictional 'twin study' that chronicles the tragedies and triumphs of identical twins.
The power of Art and Books
is unchallenged in its ability to reach audiences and affect the attitudes within the larger culture; who is not aware of the effect of Uncle Tom's Cabin, The Help, and I am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban, written by Nobel Prize Winner, Malala Yousoufzai?
I plan to harness that power through the creative work of fiction that uses a tragic heroine, to narrate a story that includes the universal themes and motifs that are internationally appealing and crosses cultural barriers: Family, Loyalty, Friendship, Betrayal, Child Abuse, Rape, Murder, Suicide, Violence and Hope. The ultimate story of survival is when man fights against himself to survive; for it is the battle being lost on an epidemic scale all over the world.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a good book is worth a million.
Black Bird: Chenoa's On the Wings of Moonlight
The Black Bird is a mysterious symbol of death, and the human spirit. Tragedy and secrecy mar the happiness of two, creative and inventive identical twins, born to a dysfunctional, alcoholic mother, running from demons from her past. The twins were named in honor of the symbiotic relationship implied in the world of music: Harmony and Melody. The two girls spend nights lying awake while fantasizing about a life they fear they will never have, a beautiful life of unlimited potential, filled with love and happiness. It is through this bonding process in which they flee the reality they are given in order to hope for a reality in the future, that the twin-ship is forged. It is through the bond of twin-ship that a dual lens is cast upon the subject of dysfunction. The twins are thrown in the fight of their lives: the fight for emotional and psychological survival.
