We met our goal! New stretch goals!

Not even halfway through the month and already we've done it, we made our goal! Thank you all so much, not just for your contributions but for your support and enthusiasm. Rebuild: Gangs of Deadsville is going to be so much greater because of it!

We're already on our way to the first stretch goal: three extra NPC factions to play against. I just added two more after that: Voice Acting for the major plot cutscenes, and Seasons for the added challenge of surviving the long winter.

Zombies slow down in the winter as their limbs freeze so they aren't as big a danger, though they'll be able to cross frozen rivers that used to protect you. Food will get scarce as the farms stop producing, so if you've been busy ants collecting food all year to last through winter, you might find some lazy grasshoppers come knocking on your door. Actually... grasshoppers aren't the best metaphor for some of these factions... they might be more like ravenous anteaters.

      Like many have already said, seasons should come before voice acting.

      Superb news, would prefer the voice acting and season & weather stretch goal switched as the weather would add significant changes & challenges to the game.

      Bugger Voice Acting. Who gives a damn about voice acting. I want more gameplay. Seasons & Weather is so much more value than voice acting. Voice acting is a waste of money.

      Just an FYI? Ron Perlman isn't just the narrator for the NEW Fallout games.

      He's the narrator for ALL of them. :) It just wouldn't BE Fallout, without Ron's voice ...!

      Congrats, looking forward to the game. Extra factions sounds pretty sweet. I'd prefer to get seasons/weather over voice acting, any additions to gameplay are a huge bonus.

      Ha! I knew this would be kicked :D! congrats indeed. Now for the ideas! Now when it comes to killing zombies, scouting, and getting food. Wouldn't it be cool if you had a choice to make those mini games? (We can do it the normal way or do a mini game of some kind) orrr! you can make the scouting have like a turn based Scenario mode.... If you choose to do that.

      Most importantly congratulations! This is an awesome game and I can't wait to get this version in my hands. I'll likely only play it on my iPad but I'm glad to be a part of getting it off the ground.

      I love the possibilities that open up with the smart use of seasons and weather. Possibility of summer droughts or too much spring rain affecting the success of the growing season?
      I like the idea of hydroponics providing a year round food supplement but I imagine it would be difficult to scavenge the materials and power needed to produce enough food for a growing population. But it could provide an important supplement to stretch those winter stores.

      As some other people have suggested, make some cool food storage ideas for the winter months! ;)

      My own idea would be that the big two block mega-grocery stores be the food storage centers of your community, or the hardware stores. They sold the canning supplies and have the big industrial freezers.

      Also, in any event could we have the seasonal changes be an option so we can change it from regular Rebuild to Seasonal Rebuild if we don't want to deal with the hassle of planning for winters?

      Oh, and YAY goal!

      While I like the idea of seasons and weather. Just some ideas. If you take over a power plant, hardware store or some other building and maybe do some research can't you figure out how to use hydroponics to ensure a food supply in the winter? That's what I would do during the Zombie Apocalypse... :)

      So if you have taken back a hardware store you can recover generators or solar panels (that were once for sale) then either a gas station for gas for generators etc. If you retake a power plant and maybe have some scientists or some such people maybe get it started again and not have to worry about that stuff?

      So if you implement Seasons and Weather is it possible for the farms to store excess food or even another structure to be a cannery just for that purpose?
