December update - version 0.71
Sarah here! This month's update adds children events, new perk & perk icons, a new zombie type and lots of small tweaks. Now both on Steam, and direct from Humble.com (lose your key?). I also updated the humble.com Android build, which may or may not run in a stable fashion on your device. Aren't betas just the best ever?
Really? These kids don't seem to think so. Except that baby. That baby has no idea what a terrible world it's been born into. It doesn't even realize it's crib is actually an ice chest... though that IS a pretty safe place to keep a baby in case of zombie attack. Just remember to poke some breathing holes.
So, you got yer regular Massed Zombies on the left; they spawn next to the fort and feebly bash at the walls for a few days until something gets them all riled up and they make it through.
Over on the right with the new art are your Zombie Hordes. These monsters spawn offscreen and make a beeline for your fort, trashing anything in their path and ultimately plowing a hole through your walls.
In the middle are a new kind of smarter, sneakier zombies. Smarter and sneakier for zombies, anyway. Still pretty dumb. I call them Roamers. They tend to ignore your walls and instead go for softer, squishier targets: survivors doing missions out in the city. They'll chase your guys around and generally make expansion hard wherever they hang out.
I may be rolling out the first bit of campaigns soon, which we've been working hard on behind the scenes. But first I've got a big backlog of events to add, an overhaul to recruitment, and work on alliances and faction respect events.
Just a reminder to get on the Steam testing branch (windows only, usually) for more frequent (though possibly less stable) updates. I also check the Steam discussion boards regularly. Jeez, I'm a real Steam fangirl now. I'll probably even add achievements and trading cards soon...
