— Toplap Live Code Draft Manifesto
Hi! We are a live coding duo, making music and visuals. We perform by creating our works live and anew for each performance. In accordance with the Draft Manifesto, we project our code as we go, so the audience can inspect and marvel at the changes and accumulations.
Codie has appeared at LiveCodeNYC algoraves and A/V events — and now we want to perform on the internet for you. Our sounds are dancey and our graphics are SoCal.
Sarah codes the visuals using her Clojurescript–Electron app, La Habra.
Kate makes the music with Sonic Pi, a live coding environment based on the Ruby programming language. There are lots of loops, beats and bass that accumulate over time. It may sound like this:
Or like this:
So What's the Main Event?
For Make 100, we are creating a digital event — our equivalent of an album. In March, we will live stream our screens and sounds for 100 special friends. Once that's finished, we will make files of the performance and a separate music download available. We'll also include some standalone gifs of the visuals, as above.
What Else Ya Got?
Everyone gets a 3" sticker!
If you are in NYC and want to come to an Algorave (featuring Codie and other LiveCodeNYC performers), you can sign up to see us in the ether and in our Normal Human Forms.™
If you have too much money and want your very own Codie visit, the Wu-Tang level is for you.
Remember: "Live coding is not about tools. Algorithms are thoughts. Chainsaws are tools. That's why algorithms are sometimes harder to notice than chainsaws." — that Draft Manifesto again

Risks and challenges
The biggest risk is that the February Algorave venue changes, as we do not currently have it confirmed. In that case, we may offer tickets to the March event or an event at a different venue instead.
Otherwise, we have stickers on order and plenty of evenings and weekends free to live stream.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
