NEXT GOAL: $1,400
We made our goal! Thank you SO much to all of our donors who have made this project possible! If there's still over a week left to go, why not try to hit another mark? With another $200, I will be able to buy a deep chest freezer for the playa to keep the dough and cheese FROZEN, instead of being crammed into coolers. If you haven't donated yet and you'd like to, there's still time to help me reach this second goal! :)
Hello! My name is Ginger Foxx and this will be my third year on the playa! I got this idea about a year ago while I was day dreaming about
how AMAZING it would be if someone showed up to our camp on a cold playa evening and delivered
some boxes of hot and delicious pizza! I've decided to take this
dream and turn it into a reality, and even push it a bit further.
There is nothing worse than being gifted hot comfort food on a cold night and not being able to eat it because of allergies or personal values. I want to make EVERY pizza gluten free and vegan so (basically) EVERYONE should be able to enjoy it!
This fundraiser will help obtain all the materials needed to make gifting 150 pizzas a success! The reward money will go towards necessary start up materials needed, so I can continue this project in the future, such as:
- A propane grill
- Pizza stones
- Cardboard pizza boxes
- Gluten free and vegan pizza dough
- Pizza sauce
- Daiya (Vegan) Mozzarella shredded cheese
- Pizza toppings (olives, pineapple tidbits, artichoke hearts, red onions, etc...)
- Sanitary hand-washing station
- Miscellaneous tools (gloves, pizza cutters, paper towels, etc...)
I am choosing to bring pizza toppings that don't have to be kept cold (unless they are already cut and need to be, of course!). Any additional fundage will go towards more awesome toppings, like kalamata olives, tomatoes, spinach, and more! I will be able to keep any additional funded items cold with coolers I bring and ice from Arctica! They will not go bad because I plan on doing all pizza related activities early in the week, probably Sunday and/or Monday and/or Tuesday.
To help with any additional food allergies, we will be writing the pizza topping ingredients on each box, or tell people as they take their slice of pizza at our camp.
Here is a basic breakdown of the cost for all materials and food items needed:
Materials (grill, propane, hand washing station, paper plates, etc): ~$445
Dough, Sauce, and Cheese: ~$435
Toppings (sliced black olives, pineapple tidbits, red onions, etc): ~$138
GRAND TOTAL: $1,018
*Please know that both Kickstarter AND Amazon will take 5% out of each transaction, and it would be AWESOME to have a little extra fundage to help pay for reward items and shipping*
**Any additional funding will go towards more pizzas and more AWESOME pizza toppings!**

Risks and challenges
FOOD DELIVERY AND MOOP. When we are serving pizza by the slice, we will be asking people to bring their own plates to cut down on MOOP. People can take their slice sans plate, but we will have a limited supply of paper plates which can be thrown in our burnables container.
When we are delivering whole pizzas to theme camps or people across the playa, we will have the pizzas in cardboard pizza boxes that can be burned.
We will be using a propane grill to cook all the pizzas so we will not be creating ashes, a very MOOPY situation. Not cool! A burnables container will be provided at our camp for any leftover paper plates when we hand them out by the slice. We will also do a leave no trace sweep after cooking the pizzas, as well as when our camp packs up and leaves for Portland at the end of Burning Man.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
