For those of you who came over by browsing through Kickstarter projects I’d like to say welcome and I’ll give you a quick summary about what we’re doing here. Silver Creek Falls is a mystery-adventure game series where you use items, clues and information you find to solve a mystery. Instead of over-selling it to you with promises about design features and game mechanics I am going to invite you to download chapter 1 for free on itch.io using the link below and you can try it out for yourself to see if you like it:
Now for those of you have already played chapter 1, thank you so much for coming over to our Kickstarter page. We honestly hope you enjoyed chapter 1 and if we’re going to get chapter 2 and 3 on the road we seriously need your help. We’re a small indie game studio based in Melbourne, Australia that produces story-heavy RPG and adventure games. We love what we do but the truth of the matter is that producing games isn’t cheap. Between the time it takes to make a game and the costs behind survival games can come out quite costly, so we need your help to fund chapter 2 and possibly even chapter 3. I’m not going to make big promises about design features and game mechanics that we can’t keep, unlike other Kickstarter projects. Chapter 1 is available for free for anyone to try for themselves.
Two city detectives are sent to a small idyllic town in North Carolina called ‘Silver Creek Falls” to investigate a strange series of events that the local sheriff can’t seem to get his mind around. What initially seems like an open-and-shut case unfolds into a truly terrifying mystery that will leave the detectives wondering what is real and what isn’t.
“Silver Creek Falls: Chapter 1” is the first instalment in what will be a 3-part mystery thriller adventure game filled with intrigue and chaos. This game is great for those that love adventure games like Grim Fandango but also enjoy hidden-item and mystery games.

Funding Tiers (Stretch Goals)
3000 AUD - Voice acting for main characters and cut scenes
4000 AUD - Documentary of how the game is made will be released with the game for all to have a peek at the game making process
5000 AUD - Chapter 3 (Final Chapter) is funded, no need for another Kickstarter. Probable Release for chapter 3 is November 2015 (it will be the biggest title of the 3)
Risks and challenges
There are many challenges and difficulties in making video games. Video games are costly to make due to the time and effort needed to make them and the amount of assets used.
For a small studio like ours the biggest difficulty lies in the fact that since we are not as big or as established as AAA studios or even most Indie studios that we can't command the power of publishers and huge marketing campaigns, which is why we came to Kickstarter to ask for your help!
Also we can't make huge games in the fashion that AAA studios do and we have to be extra creative and witty to solve our problems.
Our strength also happens to lie in our size, since we are a small team costs are relatively low and if we need to ever take a directional change in production it is a lot easier for us to do so (think about how much easier it is to turn a small boat compared to something like an oil tanker.)
Another advantage we have is that we own our offices and all our equipment so our only costs are everyday running costs like electricity, food and water, therefore chances of bankruptcy and us closing shop or very low.
The team comes from a very mixed professional background and that is our greatest strength as we are bringing so much from so many different industries (IT, software engineering, music industry, advertising industry, live events) that we make a truly unique team with a vast body of knowledge.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
