The fruit, Garcinia indica, is super. Its been used in Ayuervedic medicine for 1000's of years to balance the mind & body. It has Garcinol, HCA, xanthones; vitamins B1, B3, B9, B12, C; maganese, magnesium, and potassium and 5x more antioxidants than Kale.
Q: How many servings are in 1 50 gram pouch?
A: 20 - 50 depending on how strong you like the flavor and how well you use the fruit. You can keep using fruit until it stops releasing color.
Q: How long does it take the fruit to infuse?
A: The fruit can infuse for hours. Since the fruit is organic and sun-dried, the fruit’s moisture content varies, which affects the infusion time. I try to tell the earth elements to be exactly the same everywhere we grow and the sun to emit the exact same temperature when we dry, but the messages don’t seem to be getting through. There are some things you can control though. If you want a faster infusion make the temperature of the water hotter or add more fruit up front. You can also keep a pitcher infusing in you fridge to drink whenever you like.
Q: What do the fruit infusions taste like?
A: The flavor of the fruit varies depending on how strong you make it. If it's a light infusion with a subtle pink color it can be compared to rose. When it's darker it's close to hibiscus, a lighter cranberry or tamarind. You can add ingredient's to make any flavor you like.
Q: Can I eat the dried fruit on it’s own?
A: Yes, we dare you. Warning- it’s pungent. Try sucking or chewing dried fruit pieces or add it to granola, smoothies, or as a souring agent in cooking.
Q: How long do the fruit and infusions last?
A: The dried fruit itself lasts over 1 year. Once the fruit is infused in water the drink can be kept in the fridge for a week or at room temperature for a day. Eventually, the beverage can ferment. Some people dig fermentation.
Q: What do I do with the fruit after it infuses?
A: You can eat it, compost it, or use it to make art pieces. I'm working on a Sant fruit necklace.
Q: How is the fruit traditionally consumed?
A: The fruit is traditionally consumed as a drink after meals to aid in digestion, in meals as a souring agent, and when the body is hot or infected as a cooling agent.
Q: Why did Sant start?
A: Sant started as a social enterprise to create livelihood opportunities, promote conscious consumption, and spread love, gratitude and compassion.
What will the $$$ go to?
The money raised will go to the farmers and the women self-help groups to harvest this years crop. The crop can only be harvested 1 month out of the entire year. So we need to get enough fruit for the entire year, now. $10,000 is the minimum we need, but more funds equals more fruit for everyone to enjoy.
Our stretch goal is $60,000
You don’t need another logoed t-shirt. The new swag is experiences. You’ll get the experience of making your own fresh healthy beverage. The more you pledge the more balance inducing experiences you’ll get. Whether you need relaxation or a dance your pants off party, we’ve got you covered.
*Pouch – all pouches are 50 grams.
*Sant Sessions – Inspiring individuals will facilitate a 1-hour experience. (with the help of technology). You’ll get a chance to practice and ask questions.
MEDITATION - You’ll get a sense for what meditation really is (spoiler alert it’s not about controlling your thoughts or even about getting calm.) Trust me, you’ll want these insights. This meditation saved my life. I’m probably meditating right now. (It’s keeping me sane through this intense Kickstarter campaign.)
BREATHING - Breathing, it’s more complicated than most people realize. I’d been practicing yoga for 10 years and have worked with healers on breathing and it just clicked for me. And it sure is peaceful. We’ll go through myths and particular breathing techniques.
MASSAGE - Fact - touch is important. It can relieve pain, stimulate organs and reduce anxiety and stress. We can all use more touch in our lives. (It’s part of the reason I love hugs so much. Oxytocin, yes please). Massage is one way to heal, but sometimes there’s no one around to massage you. Don’t fret; rub yourself. You’ll learn simple self-massage techniques. My favorite is the stomach massage. You’ll be showing your belly some love in no time.
International Shipping - We're doing it. International pouches will come in a thinner package to decrease shipping costs for everyone. Pouches will still be 50 grams.
