the first single is finished!
hi! here's the latest...
the first single, 'setting the world on fire', is finished! a release date is set for july 16, at which time an accompanying video will be released on you tube.
the song was inspired by last summer's uk riots, the anniversary of which is coming in august. the timeliness of the song influenced my decision to release it as the first single. i'm hoping it gets some attention in europe this summer.
the rhythm section of graham maby and gary burke really rocks on this one. earl slick's hot, jangly guitar keeps it moving, and the riffy piano parts, played by zac seman, make the track memorable.
wext 97.7, the eclectic albany n.y. radio station, has the song on rotation, as an exclusive prior to its release. you can listen to the station online. http://exit977.org/listen-live/
the plan is to release a new song every couple of months. i'll be mixing the other 2 songs in july with rich lamb at systems two studios in brooklyn. then i'll return to joe lambert mastering in brooklyn to master them with roman vail, who did an amazing job on 'setting the world on fire.'
i'm hoping to have a new band ready to debut by september 1, in time for the next new single. meanwhile, i'll be doing some acoustic shows this summer with liv cummins.
i'll be sending you your free download of the first single soon. please turn your friends on to it...they can buy a copy at cdbaby.com after july 1.
this is an exciting time for me, as i get new material out there for the first time in 5 years. of course, none of this could've happened without your help...so thanks again!
more news soon!!
