"How do I say hi after my hiatus?" [Don't Turn Me Down, SANCT EP]
Since 2007, Bavu Blakes got married, moved from Austin, Texas, to Los Angeles, started barbecuing every week, ran a half-marathon and had a son. More than 1,400 miles from his old accomplishments and comfort zone, Blakes wrote the SANCT EP -- produced entirely by Reggie Coby (dead prez, Devin the Dude) -- as an update to his musical supporters. For the record, it sounds fine and great!

The SANCT EP Kickstarter Project exists as a way to give Bavu's small and powerful support base, as well as new supporters, something besides another plain ol' CD you can get from the rapper next door. We know the music is great and will change the world one experience at a time. We believe that this music will go farther via premium packaging, i.e. peripheral goodies that sweeten the epic sonic experience of the SANCT EP.
In order to do this in a timely manner, this Kickstarter Project will raise $4,500 in 30 days. Kickstarter Projects are all or nothing, so if we raise $4,499.99 we don't get anything. On the right side of the page, you can see all of the rewards listed. Any pledges between $5 and $1000 will help cover most of the costs it took to produce these items, and in return you get an appropriate reward. The more you give, the more you receive.
Since this project was produced and recorded in Austin, TX, anyone who pledges $35 or more will also receive free admission into the March 31 SANCT EP Release Party and "Better 2 Be" Video Premiere.
"I don't make my music for the money, I do other things for the money! As a family man, I fully believe in the importance of multi-generational music that conveys the love, truth and power of the Most High. I make music as a means of expression, to fulfill my purpose and, most definitely, in service to the people who enjoy it.
My goal for the SANCT EP, and every project with my name on it, is for the music to sustain itself. Therefore this Kickstarter Project is not designed to put profits in my pocket, rather to allow me to satisfy my supporters, move on to the next project and keep it coming." -- Bavu Blakes
